Year 4… High expectations Attitude, Respect and Maturity
Developing independence – please encourage your child to take responsibility for packing their own school bag and remembering items such as PE kit

Uniform White polo t-shirt or shirt, with or without school logo
Black, grey or navy trousers or skirt No jeans or tracksuit bottoms please No jewellery (small stud earrings/watches only) No make-up Plain black trainers or school shoes All uniform must have children’s names in Bit firmer than in previous year groups, will be recording in planners

PE kit Outdoor kit : plain white t-shirt; navy, grey or black plain tracksuit; suitable trainers Indoor kit : plain white t-shirt; plain, navy, grey or black shorts Kit should be in a bag – drawstring is best All kit must have children’s names in Swimming kit – costume and towel

PE Swimming is on Tuesdays PE is on Thursdays
We do have spare kit if no kit in school If a child forgets their kit 3 times they will be given a red card and parents will be contacted PE days likely to change each half term Kit in on a Monday and home on a Friday to be washed Roll on deodorant?

Mile Run Trainers in school every day 3 times a week
Aim is to complete a mile Working towards awards and milestones Purpose – improve fitness and concentration levels Children may only have 1 other PE lesson a week

Same system throughout school from Nursery to Year 6 – Good to be Green Raffle tickets Friday activities House points Merit box Always parties WOW work on display

House System Rubies, Diamonds, Sapphires and Emeralds
Each class has a house captain for each house

Homework Homework for the full half term will be given at the beginning of the half term Choice of 10 pieces – seven must be completed One piece of homework should be completed each week with books handed in on Wednesday Homework books handed out on Fridays No homework – expected to stay in at playtime and lunchtime to complete it Occasions where homework has been an issue, expect it to be recorded in the planner

Curriculum Coverage Maths, Literacy, Spelling & Guided Reading are all taught daily Science, Computing, PE & PSHE are taught weekly French will be taught through immersion mornings and afternoons (4 over the year) Other curriculum subjects may be taught on a rotational basis but over the course of the academic year, all objectives will be covered
