4 FGA Installation Restoration Program
2015 Proposed work Former Bldg 163 Underground Storage Tank Farm (BRAC Site 94) Ozone Treatability Study halted in 2012 Army Environmental Command requesting a Monitored Natural Attenuation approach RI/FS at AEC for review Continue sampling of groundwater monitoring wells to monitor benzene (& other petroleum constituents) plume

5 FGA Installation Restoration Program
2015 Proposed work Former South Tank Farm Groundwater sampling at 9 monitoring wells and 5 supply wells to monitor Ethylene Dibromide (EDB) plume. Wellhead treatment of supply wells that have had historic EDB detections near or above safe drinking water limits (with confirmation sampling to confirm effectiveness) RI/FS revised and Final at ADEC for review Replacement well for MW-18 planned

6 FGA Installation Restoration Program
2015 Proposed Work Complete post-wide groundwater sampling as downgradient monitoring of contaminated sites Complete Proposed Plan & No Further Action Decision Documents for 51 sites Close unused wells Develop Land Use Controls and Long Term Maintenance Plan and implement the first year of maintenance

WWII Tent Site – plan to clear the northern 30 acres of the site of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) Working under existing Explosives Safety Submission (ESS) approved by DOD Explosives Safety Board (DDESB). BRAC Site 112 Former Scrap Yard – plan to clear MEC from entire 7 acres of site

8 SM-1A Nuclear Reactor Characterization
US Army Corps of Engineers completed fieldwork for All-Hazards Assessment (AHA) during summer 2011 Final All-Hazards Assessment Report was completed in November 2014 Formulation of disposal options and cost estimates based on the findings of the AHA are being used to support decommissioning funding requests. Initiation of further formal decommissioning planning activities, including National Environmental Policy Act documentation, will only start after funding is secured. Sturgis MH-1A reactor currently being towed to Galveston TX for decommissioning. SM-1 (Fort Belvoir) planning contract awarded in SM-1A decommissioning would subsequently follow Sturgis and SM-1 decommissioning.
