3. How DO I “transition” back to a traditional school?
The Goal of Pinellas Secondary School is to promote exemplary conduct which leads to academic, social and personal success.
In order for students to transition back to traditional school, students must meet set criteria of the 4 A’s.
Being here at PSS, you will focus on your academics, social skills, and personal skills. We use the same Curriculum as your home school.

8. Transition process
A student will be eligible to “roar back to success” as evidenced by meeting the 4 A’s.
The MTSS team will review student progress to determine if a student has successfully completed the 4 A’s criteria (32pts).
If a student has not successfully meet the 4 A’s criteria for transition, they will remain a PSS until the review period.

9. Transition process con’t…
Completion of the Transition Rubric will be completed by the team. Student must have a minimum of 32 points at the end of their potential exit semester to successfully transition from Pinellas Secondary School.
Pinellas Secondary School will offer 3 opportunities for parent involvement during each semester(mandatory intake, open house, and exit conference). Participation in 2 of the 3 is required.
Pinellas Secondary will share the exit interview/process with the zoned school upon a student’s exit.

11. Electronic devices
Cell phones are required to be checked in at the beginning of the school day and before you enter the building.
Any student who chooses not to follow the cell phone policy and/or is found in possession of an electronic device(s) are subject to the following:
Behavior Specialist will be notified and item(s) will be collected.
Behavior Specialist will contact Parent/Guardian.
PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST PICKUP THE COLLECTED DEVICE(S) BETWEEN 6:40AM – 2:30PM.

12. ID Badges - - -
Students are required to wear an ID Badge as part of the Dress Code Policy. Each student will be given an ID Badge when they enroll into Pinellas Secondary School.
Lost, broken, destroyed, or defiled ID Badges must be replaced, to be in dress code compliance, at a charge of $1.00 each. Lanyards can also be purchased at a charge of $1.00 each.
***Students are not allowed in class without an
ID Badge.

13. Jewelry
Students may NOT wear or bring any rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, watches or any other jewelry to school. This includes tongue and face piercings and spacers/gauges, bandages, etc…
If a student brings any of these items to school, the items will be confiscated until the end of the day.

14. NO Touch policy Restroom Pinellas Secondary High is a NO TOUCH School
This means no: hugging, putting hands on of any kind

15. What can’t you bring to school?
No BACKPACKS, PURSES, GYM BAGS, MAKE-UP or PENCIL BAGS
No GUM and SUNFLOWER SEEDS
No MEDICATION

An open mind and a willingness to learn.
Pen, Pencil, Paper, Folders and a Binder.

17. LUNCH RECESS Breakfast and Lunch are free for all students
30 minutes to receive and eat lunch
All foods are to be consumed in the cafeteria only

After eating and as a group students have the privilege to go outside for recess
