The San Diego RSD/CRPS Hope 4 Cure Walk is a unique event designed to bring together families, friends, caregivers, and supporters whose lives have been affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It is a day to connect with others and share support, coping skills, ideas, knowledge, general friendship and of course spread awareness.
Approximately 50,000 new cases of CRPS occur each year, yet most peoples are not familiar with the syndrome. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or CRPS, formerly known as RSD or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy is a progressive disease of the Autonomic Nervous System,. The pain is characterized as constant chronic burning pain and is ranked as the most painful form of chronic pain today by the McGILL Pain Index. The pain is typically accompanied by inflammations, spasms in blood vessels and muscles , insomnia, emotional distress and depression . And it is debilitating There is no cure for now. BUT it is always HOPE.
