Engine- FIS Standard Report Reporting Tool Kit (“RTK”)
Reporting Methods Engine- FIS Standard Report There are over 300 engine reports including financial statements, investment restriction/compliance monitoring, regulatory and consolidated portfolio reporting. Browser Reporting FIS module that provides financial statement reporting with a standard set of reports. Reports are populated utilizing FOMI/Spectra code capabilities of FIS, based upon the parameters identified in the report requests. Reporting Tool Kit (“RTK”) An Excel based reporting tool from FIS that allow users to create customized reports through the integration of Excel functions and data from FIS. Ad Hoc Reporting FIS module used to create reports on-the-fly. Provides a browser based ad hoc reporting tool for FIS that provides access to the main types of data: Transaction Analysis, Security Distribution, Fund Trend (Valuation) and Pricing/Exchange Rates. Will be discussed in detail in the Ad Hoc Reporting Training Presentation. Standard Reports Customizable Reports There are four types of reporting methods within FIS the JNAM currently utilizes. Engine reports or “R” reports, for example The Detail Trial Balance or R122 include reporting on financial statements, investment restriction, compliance monitoring, regulatory and consolidated portfolio reporting. Browser reports are also standard within FIS and include reporting on Valuation, Transactions, Purchases/Sales and Payable/Receivables and many others. Reporting Tool Kit (RTK) reports are an Excel based tool and allow the user to customize reports and combine Security, Fund, and Transaction information into one report as well as include user designed calculations. Ad Hoc Reporting is a FIS module, used to create reports on the fly, created by the user and are designed for a specific task and not intended to be able to be adapted for other purposes.
4
Engine- FIS Standard Report
First I’m going to discuss FIS Engine reporting, which includes over 300 standard reports. There are over 300 engine reports including financial statements, investment restriction/compliance monitoring, regulatory and consolidated portfolio reporting.
5
Engine Reporting Referring to the slide you can see the location of the Engine reports, you can also type “BatchRpt” in the Jump To box in the upper left hand corner of the screen. You’ll want to keep the default report type Standard Report Sets, we’ll discuss the other report type later in the presentation. Once you hit the “request” tab choose a fund account number and the from and to dates. Engine reports require the from date to be the prior date of the information you’re requesting and a to date of the last date you want reported. If you’d like to retain a particular report longer than 5 days, you may do so in the “Retention Days” field, this will keep the report in the report browser for the requested amount of days. If you already know the report number simply enter it in the R field. If you don’t know, click on the R and a list of reports will be provided for you to choose from. Up to 12 reports may be requested in a submission. Some reports have reporting “Options”; which may include viewing the report in a different way or by share class etc. For example, you can report on the R086 NAV Impact Summary Report by total fund, class specific or total and class specific. After you hit the submit button the report will begin processing and will appear in the Process Monitor section until it finishes. You can retrieve the report in Process Browser.
6
Report Browser In the Reporting Process Browser section select the report and click on either “View Report” or Download Report. You may delete reports in the Browser section as well. If you choose to download you’ll be asked if you want to open or save the report. If it’s opened it’ll be in a text document and not very useful, the same thing if you save the document. The best choice is to view the report and save it in a pdf format. One great option, if you don’t need to save or print the report, is you can open the report in another window, that way you can view the report and still use FIS to access other screens and process transactions.
7
Engine Report Example This is an example of the first page of the Engine Trial Balance Report for the JNL/BlackRock Commodity Securities Strategy Fund, because the from and to dates are only one day apart, this Trial Balance is reporting on only one day, April 2nd 2014.

Where To Find The Documentation
Engine- System Manuals: System Manual Section Three – Reports Formats Information regarding All FIS reporting can be found at the website. “System Manual” and then the table of contents. For Engine Reporting documentation you’ll click on Section Three – Report Formats. This table of contents is alphabetical by report name.
9
Section Three – Report Formats
By using the search function “Ctrl F” you can easily search for a report. You’ll notice some reports don’t start with “R” but with letters, for example “DANA”, or “STAS”. Theses FIS screens are included in this documentation because they are considered reporting screens. Other non R reports such as PARMSY and PARMEX are considered Batch Control Reports and won’t be covered in this the presentation. A very important note regarding the lay out of section three – report formats, is that it begins with section 3.10 “Investment Accounting Standard Reports”, and separates out Mutual Fund Reports (3.20) Global Reports (3.30), U.K. Unit Trust Reports (3.40) all the way up to Miscellaneous Reports (3.310). A few others to note are Master/Feeder Accounting Reports (3.80), Multiple classes of Shares Reports (3.90) and Interest Only (IO/Principal Only (PO) Reporting

Reporting Documentation
Let’s talk about what the FIS Reporting Documentation provides to you, or how it’s helpful. Once you’ve located the report you want information on, the first page will show an example report, then the purpose, description of each reportable item, the parameter options, which are provided in FIS after you click on the “Submit” button, and notes. It’s extremely important to read the notes section as it will tell you which types of funds the report supports, calculation methods if applicable, and any other pertinent information regarding the report.
11
BROWSER REPORTING Now I’m going to talk about Browser Reporting, a standard set of FIS reports that utilize Spectra codes based upon the parameters identified in the report requests. FIS module that provides financial statement reporting with a standard set of reports. Reports are populated utilizing FOMI/Spectra code capabilities of FIS, based upon the parameters identified in the report requests.
12
Browser Reporting In the same reporting tab where the Engine reports are in FIS, you’ll find Browser Reporting. The Browser reports start with “Valuation Reports” in the Reporting menu and goes down to “Account Report”. I chose Valuation Reports for this example to show you some of the reports available in that section. As with Engine reports, Browser reports are standard, they can’t be changed or altered in any way.
13
How To Run A Browser Report
To run a Browser Report you can choose from the menu in FIS or if you know the Jump To, simply enter that in and hit GO. Enter the Fund Account, From and To Dates, Browser Reports can be ran for one day, or multiple days, and the Report Output Type EXCEL. To the right of the Jump To is the Favorites section. Browser reports can be saved as Favorites so that the user doesn’t have to search or know the Jump To for the report, just simply click on the Favorites drop down after you’ve saved it and it will remain there.
14
Balance Sheet In this example I chose the Excel Output, as you can see the rows and columns like you would a regular Excel spreadsheet. What makes Browser reports unique is that while in view mode, prior to saving the report, you can double click on any of the blue highlighted numbers and FIS will take you to a detailed sub-ledger report that will show what that number is made up of. For example, by clicking on the 04/04/14 Accrued Income a window will pop up and you’ll see the Subsidiary ledger that makes up that account.
15
Accrued Gross Income Sub-Ledger
Accrued Income for this fund includes Interest and Dividend Income. The total at the far right bottom hand side matches is the same as the total Accrued Income on the Balance Sheet.

Where To Find The Documentation
Engine- Apollo Documentation: User Documentation User’s Guide Section 9 – Browser Reports As with Engine report documentation, Browser documentation is in the investonesupport.com website. Using the latest version of the documentation, click on “User Documentation” under the “APOLLO DOCUMENTATION” section. Then click on “USER’S GUIDE” section 9 – Browser Reports.
17
Browser Report Documentation
Once you’ve located the report you want information on, the first page will show an example report, a description of the report, what prompts you’ll be given, the parameters of the report, which unlike Engine reports are NOT prompted in FIS when requesting, and a short description of each reportable item. I chose the Balance Sheet documentation for this example hoping that most, if not all of you, are familiar with this report. Down at the bottom of the slide you can see “Code” in the FIELDS section. These codes are related to another type of FIS reporting “Spectra”, an integrated report writer that won’t be discussed in detail however, it’s important to note that Spectra codes are utilized throughout FIS’s reporting packages.
18
REPORTING TOOL KIT (“RTK”)
The next type of reporting I’ll discuss is Reporting ToolKit (“RTK”), an Excel based tool used to customize reports though the integration of Excel functions and data from FIS. An Excel based reporting tool from FIS that allow users to create customized reports through the integration of Excel functions and data from FIS.
19
Reporting Tool Kit (“RTK”)
In FIS, RTK reports can be found in the reporting section under “Custom Reports”. As you can see there are several departmental tabs that each house a number of customized reports.
20
What is RTK? Customized reporting tool
Reports built by the Operational Development Team based on department request Simplifies the creation and execution of reports Provides advanced features for data reporting and presentation RTK reports are created by the Operational Development Team. The reports are customized which simplifies the execution of the reports. Once the report is created you simply enter the account number, date, and output type.
21
RTK Report Example A commonly run RTK report is the Change in Earned Income. Logic was built into this report to only show securities with a NAV impact greater than $ A calculation was also incorporated to report what the NAV impact is of the change in income.
22
Where To Find The Documentation
Enterprise- Distributed Architecture: Developer’s Guide Information regarding RTK reports can be found in the same location as Engine and Browser reporting at the website however, you’ll want to click on Developer’s Guide under the Distributed Architecture section. The documentation explains how to build a report however, since ODT owns that responsibility, the other departments simply just have to request a report, see next slide.
23
RTK Request Form This slide represents an example RTK request form that is provided by the individual department to ODT requesting a report to be built. Manager approval is required. Testers from the department requesting the report will work closely with ODT to ensure the report is functioning as specified in the request form, once confirmed the report will be placed in production.
24
AD HOC REPORTING The last type of reporting discussed in this presentation is Ad Hoc Reporting, which supports a range of functionality from quick querying of data to more advanced features. FIS module used to create reports on-the-fly. Provides a browser based ad hoc reporting tool for FIS that provides access to the main types of data: Transaction Analysis, Security Distribution, Fund Trend (Valuation) and Pricing/Exchange Rates.
25
Advanced Features Joining of field sets from different data views and field sets Graph field sets are available as a separate field set type Advanced filtering utilizing an expression builder for saved and run-time filters Grouping by standard data categories or customized categories Reports can be published out of the Ad Hoc reporting framework and used within FIS as a standard report Sharing features are built into Ad Hoc reporting for folders, reports, and field sets Multiple report output types are supported such as XLS, XLSX, DOCX, XML, CSV and PDF Listed in this slide you’ll see several advanced features of Ad Hoc Reporting, the ability to join field sets (Transaction analysis, Valuation, Security Distribution), group by standard or customized data categories, publish reports outside of the Ad Hoc framework and use as a standard report and have multiple output methods.
26
Where To Find The Documentation
Enterprise- Distributed Architecture: User’s Guide Section 21 – Ad Hoc Reporting As with the other report documentation, Ad Hoc Reporting documentation can be found in the investonesupport.com website. Using the latest version of the documentation in the Distributed Architecture section USER’S GUIDE section 21 – Ad Hoc Reporting. A separate Ad Hoc Reporting presentation that goes into detail on how to use this reporting tool is available.
