3 Types of Warts Common warts Plantar warts Flat warts Genital warts

4 Common Warts Common warts appear mainly on the hands. Subungual warts appear around/under the nails, they are harder to cure Flesh colored, raised from the surface and covered with hornlike projections

5 Plantar warts occur on the bottom of the foot
High-pressure areas such as the heel or metatarsal head, area behind/under toes Grow into the skin, not outward, this makes them more difficult to treat

6 Flat Warts commonly seen on the face, forehead, or back of the hands
small individual bumps and spread rapidly

7 Genital warts on the genitals, pubic area, rectum, or between the thighs

8 Symptoms Small, hard, raised or flat lesion or lump
Small, smooth lesions on face, hands, arms, legs Rough growths around nails Rough, round lesions on soles of feet

Home remedies- Compound W- freezes the wart, causing a blister to form underneath to fall off Many have salicylic acid involved Cantharidin

10 Treatments Cryotherapy Cantharidin Electrosurgery Laser Removal
Curettage- cutting off wart with a sharp knife Electrosurgery- burning the wart with an electrical current. Cryoptherapy- liquid nitrogen is sprayed onto the affected area, A blister may form beneath the treated area, which helps to lift the lesion off the skin Cantharidin-An acid taken out of a beetle, this acid forms a local epidermal tissue reaction that is intense and produces a blister formation Others include- chemical peels, liquid nitrogen Electrosurgery Laser Removal
