2 Mission Statement Cornerstone Charter Academy- A Challenge Foundation Academy, a tuition-free, public charter school, will give every student the opportunity to reach his or her full potential by providing a rigorous academic program, character education, and meaningful parental participation.

3 Who is Cornerstone? Founded in 2012 as a public charter school
High School opened in August 2015 with grade 9 It is a tuition free school of choice A back to basics, traditional alternative to the norm

4 High School Structure HS students wear CCA Spirit Wear daily; Traditional CCA Uniforms on Official Uniform Day High School day begins at 8:15 a.m. HS day ends at 3:20 p.m. Seven, 50 minute class periods 20 minute daily Smart Lunch for tutoring, Study Halls & club mtg.’s

8 Character Education Several of our High School students are gaining experience teaching Character Education lessons to our Middle School students each Wednesday morning. Students in Leadership class are required to complete a minimum of 25 community service hours

10 Our High School is a Leadership School
Through our Foundations of Leadership course in the 9th grade, students are challenged to lead themselves, lead others, and lead in the community. Many of our clubs are student driven Many of our extracurricular activities (i.e. Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas breakfast, & Winter Dance) are planned entirely by students in Student Government Association Club (SGA)

18 Our teachers make all the difference
Our teachers have been hand chosen as the best “fit” for our students and their needs Our teachers make parents aware of what is going on in their classrooms via their newsletters, their websites, Remind texts, and phone calls. They welcome your questions and encourage parents to support their children’s learning at home.

19 How to stay aware of opportunities
Mrs. Bell operates a large text & messaging system, Remind, for all students & parents in grades Announcements about enrichment opportunities, volunteer opportunities, various CCA announcements, etc. are sent out to keep you informed. Stay tuned when you enter 9th grade on how to join Mrs. Bell’s Remind group

20 APPLICATION PROCESS For the 2017/2018 school year, the applications must be completed no later than 4pm on Friday, Feb. 17th, 2017. The lottery will take place Wednesday, March 15th at 10am. A computer program randomly chooses the names from 2 pools- the sibling pool first and then the general population.
