Therefore, the disciples need to be wise as serpents, monitoring everything around them. 30 MIND THE GAP Be cunning, shrewd, and wise as to how the enemy will try to pull you back.

31 MIND THE GAP 1. The enemy will try to discourage you with who you were. Resist him Steadfast with II Cor. 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

32 MIND THE GAP The enemy will try to pull you back to your old lifestyle. Resist him Steadfast with Eph. 5:11 “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

33 MIND THE GAP 3. The enemy will try to pull you back through people of the past. Resist him Steadfast with I Cor. 15:33 “Don't let anyone deceive you. Associating with bad people will ruin decent people.”

34 MIND THE GAP 4. The enemy will try to trick you into false freedom. Resist him Steadfast with 2 Peter 2:19 “They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity--for people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

35 MIND THE GAP The enemy knows your weaknesses so be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Next week – I will deal with psychological warfare and how to overcome the negative thoughts and discouragement in your mind.
