3 Carlos Santiesteban Montero was born in Guadalajara in 1927 .
Son of the painter Carlos Santiesteban Valh (died 1932) and Francisca Montero. His mother always supported him in his dream of being an artist .

4 «…lo primero que pedí a los Reyes Magos fue una caja de colores…..»
From an early age feels the call of the brushes, always under the tutelage of the mother figure ( very present throughout his life) . «…lo primero que pedí a los Reyes Magos fue una caja de colores…..» His goal in life was to succeed!!

5 It is self-taught , until as free student enrolls in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando ( Madrid).

6 His move to Madrid puts you in contact with several artists of the time in the field of the show and dance. He began his career as a costume designer ( both for plays and ballet) .

7 Foremost among his collaborations that carried out in 1955 for the company of Antonio Ruiz Soler dance , better known as Antonio ' The Dancer "( dancer, flamenco dancer , choreographer and showman ) .

8 In the decade of the 50s the Hilton Hotel in Madrid organizes a pictorial exhibition of his work, consisting of about 20 paintings of Andalusian inspiration, especially colorful figures on black background.

9 His collection comprises paintings especially oils on canvas

10 His career is influenced by musicians and Spanish themes that made up his schedule of shows on stage (Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados . )

17 He travels several capitals of Europe and the US , even taking up residence in cities like Seville , Paris, Malaga , New York , ...

18 With great success and international recognition in 1973 he returned to Guadalajara to inaugurate the restored Palacio del Infantado with an interesting exhibition on Heralds , ladies and alcarreños landscapes, with resounding success .

His last solo exhibition ( with a broad representation of his career ) took place in 2014 , also at the Palace of the Infantado: «Óleos sobre Castilla-La Mancha. Algunos Retratos»

27 Since 2003 had an agreement with the city of Guadalajara, by which , after his death, his peculiar house gave way to the Consistory (in exchange for a life pension ) , to become the future Museum Carlos Santiesteban

30 Carlos Santiesteban died on March 25, 2015 , at his home in Guadalajara, at the age 88 .
