1 How to Quote Alliance Products
Step By Step Best Practices for Authorized Business Partners & Their Support Staff

2 Spec Smart Quick Start Quote against your competitor’s products to jump start your initial sales… Compare the nomenclature of the competition to the corresponding Alliance Nomenclature Use the Model Cross Reference Matrix and the Nomenclature Map

3 Spec Smart Quick Start Determine the approximate size or capacity of the unit. This can generally be found within the competitors model number, in the schedule under Capacity or in the written specification. Determine the power type / source / supply If the unit is gas fired or also called gas/electric, this limits the Alliance products to the Roof-top Product Offering; no other products made by Alliance are available for use with natural gas. Determine the kind of unit, Air-cooled Water Cooled Glycol Cooled Chilled Water Cooled Hybrid (air-cooled with Chilled Water coil, Water or Glycol cooled with Econmomy Cooling Option etc) Look Up the Description of the kind of unit on the first column of the Model Cross Reference Matrix and then locate the Competitors Name in the Column Header Note the Competitor’s model number and identify the corresponding Alliance Model Number (Be aware that engineers may often use incorrect model nomenclature-THE SCHEDULE DATA typically overrides the model number)

4 Determine the approximate size or capacity of the unit.
Spec Smart Quick Start Determine the approximate size or capacity of the unit. This can generally be found within the competitors model number, in the schedule under Capacity or in the written specification. Look for “MBH”, “MBTU”, Tons, CAPACITY etc…

5 Determine the power type / source / supply
Spec Smart Quick Start Determine the power type / source / supply If the unit is gas fired or also called gas/electric, this limits the Alliance products to the Roof-top Product Offering; no other products made by Alliance are available for use with natural gas.

6 Determine the kind of unit,
Air-cooled Water Cooled Glycol Cooled Chilled Water Cooled Hybrid (air-cooled with Chilled Water coil, Water or Glycol cooled with Economy Cooling Option etc) Spec Smart Quick Start

7 Spec Smart Quick Start Look Up the Description of the kind of unit on the first column of the Model Cross Reference Matrix and then locate the Competitors Name in the Column Header and use the grid to find our corresponding model number OR If you can garner enough information from the Schedule, you can BUILD the Skil-aire model number from the information…

9 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The FIRST LETTER STANDS FOR THE KIND OF UNIT: P – Package System B – Evap Section X – Evap section with Compressors C – Centrifugal Condensing Section (always includes compressors except when “NC” appears at end of model number) U – Guardian Upflow D – Guardian Downflow F – Remote Fan Condenser (never includes compressors except when followed by a “U” M – Mini System

10 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The SECOND LETTER STANDS FOR METHOD OF COOLING: A – Air-cooled W – Water Cooled G – Glycol Cooled C – Chilled Water Cooled

11 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The THIRD LETTER STANDS FOR THE APPLICATION: A – Comfort Cooling C – Computer Room O – 100% Outdoor Air H – Heat-Pump 1 –Single Circuit / Modular System 2 – Dual Circuit / Modular System 3 – Triple Circuit / Modular System

12 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The FOURTH TO SIXTH LETTERS STAND FOR SIZE: The Nominal Cooling Capacity in MBTUH 012 – 12,000 BTUH –1 Ton 018 – 18,000 BTUH –1.5 Ton 024 – 24,000 BTUH –2 Ton 036 – 36,000 BTUH –3 Ton 048 – 48,000 BTUH –4 Ton 060 – 60,000 BTUH –5 Ton Etc…

13 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The SEVENTH LETTER STANDS FOR ORIENTATION: H – Horizontal Orientation (usually ceiling hung or slab/roof mounted) V – Vertical Orientation (usually floor standing or on a floorstand) W – Wall Mounted C – Console Style

14 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The EIGHTH LETTER STANDS FOR VOLTAGE & PHASE: 1– 208/230/1 3 – 208/230/3 4 – 460/3 5– 575/3 7 – 277/1

15 BUILD the Alliance model number using the Nomenclature Map
The LAST 3 or MORE LETTERS STAND FOR SPECIALTIES: ECX – Economy Cooling Option EXT – Extended Evap Section NC – No Compressors D – Dual Circuit T – Triple Circuit

16 Spec Smart Quick Start Once you know details about the type of product that you need to quote, select the corresponding price pages. The Price pages are divided into three main color coded groups: COMFORT COOLING GOLD ENVIRONMENTAL COOLING also known as COMPUTER ROOM COOLING GREEN ENERGY RECOVEERY & IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) VIOLET

17 Spec Smart Quick Start Once you have the appropriate Price Pages, note that ALL PRICE PAGES ARE LAID OUT SIMILARLY USING A STANDARD FORMAT

18 Standard Products are Listed First
Standard Products are Listed First. Followed by a Nomenclature Map to assist in the selection & pricing.

19 Options are Listed Next There are NOTES to indicate special circumstances or requirements

20 Approximate Shipping Weights are given for all products to assist in estimating freight charges

21 1. Use a spreadsheet 2. List the unit 3. List the Condenser 4
1. Use a spreadsheet 2. List the unit 3. List the Condenser 4. List the what’s required if it is split 5. List the standard options: T-stat Vibration Isolators or hanger clips Condensate pump (2 for a split HP) Disconnect Switch (2 for a split units) Low ambient Controls Air-side Economizer / Water side economizer Spare Filters 6. Tally up the values, apply the multiplier and add the estimated Freight

22 Alliance’s Product Offering

23 Success!

24 1 to 5 Tons *** 012 -060 *** 12,000 BTUH to 60,000 BTUH
When you’ve determined the approximate size or capacity of the unit is 1 to 5 Tons This can generally be found within the competitors model number, in the schedule under Capacity or in the written specification. Units this size are considered small Horizontal Orientation Mini-Spot (for Comfort Applications) Mini-Might (for Computer Room Cooling) These can be ducted or have a 2 X 4 supply/return ceiling grille
