2. Polynomial Long Division
Use “0” coefficients to insert missing terms in DECREASING order of the variable
Denominator of Remainder

Numerator of Remainder

3. Example: Step 1: Add missing terms to numerator (if necessary)
Step 2: Rewrite as a division problem with the “house”
Step 3: How many times does the first term in the divisor go into the first term of the dividend?
Step 4: Repeat Step 2 until you can NOT multiply by anything to get the resulting terms.
