5. Why Create Custom Business Pages
By creating custom business-for-sale pages, you are adding more web pages to your site for the search engine spiders to find and index. This will drive more traffic to your site.
For example, an office with 50 listings:
Creating no custom pages will give you 50 web pages of businesses for sale alone.
Adding five (5) custom pages per listing has 50 X 5 = 250 business for sale WebPages!

6. Business For Sale Site Features
Every business represented by your office will have its own website.
You can create custom pages, add pictures, graphics, etc.
Each business is assigned a unique url (domain name), searchable on Google and Yahoo

9. Getting Started
Call VR Corporate Headquarters to obtain your WebManager username and password.
Note that there are two user access levels.
Office Admin: Has the ability to create and edit your office website pages as well as business-for-sale web pages.
Office User: Has the ability to create and edit business-for-sale web pages. Cannot create or edit office website pages. This is typical for Associates.

10. Accessing the VR WebManager
Login
From the VR Website Homepage, click on “Member Services.”
From the “Member Services” page, click on WebManager and enter your username and password.
Once you are logged into the WebManager, you can create and edit your office web pages such as for new businesses for sale.

To start creating your custom business-for-sale web pages:
Click on “Listing Management” and all of your listings will be shown (next page).

13. Start Creating WebPages
Click on the listing you want to build a custom website for.
Click on “Add New.”
Select the page type that you want to add from the pull-down menu to start building your pages.

As you finish and save each page, they will be added to the listing page.

20. Adding & Editing Pages
You have the ability to add unlimited pages to your website.
You can edit pages without any time or frequency restrictions.
Note that your pages will not appear on the public site until they have been approved by the Office Administrator.

21. Inserting Pictures & Graphics
Use the “Picture Gallery” to upload pictures to your office folder and insert images.

24. Fonts and Styles Standard Font Styles
The standard font for all VR office Websites is Verdana 10pt, Size 2 on your Toolbar.
Verdana 10 pt is used for all body text and content.
You can use bold and italics when appropriate.
You can use larger font sizes as well for main titles and headlines.

25. Formatting Tips
The WebManager is a WYSIWYG (pronounced wizy wig) editor – which means What You See Is What You Get. It is designed to create web pages that will look exactly how you would build them from the editor.
If you type your text directly into the editor screen, it will format correctly for the web.
If you cut and paste your text from a Word document, follow the steps on the next page.

26. Cutting & Pasting from Word
You can cut and paste text from Word; however, the Word formatting tags and information is retained and your page will not display correctly. To clean up the format, do the following:
Click on the “Yellow Paint Brush” on the Toolbar and then click on
“Remove Word Specific Mark Up.”
If you still have formatting problems, use the “Remove All HTML Tags” option as well.

Bullets & Numbers
Bullets and numbers are available on the Toolbar.
Tables & Columns
Use the “Table” icon to create a table and make columns.
You can change column borders by right clicking the table and selecting “Properties.”

Inserting Pictures & Graphics
Use the “Image Gallery” icon to upload new images to your folder.
Note: Upload your images to your office folder that has your office number on it.
Use the “Insert Image” icon to insert images from your “Gallery” folder. You can also insert images from the Gallery.
You can resize images and change the placement by right clicking on the image and then clicking on properties or when you insert the image.

Use the “Create Link” icon to create a link to another page or an address.

Drive more traffic to your site by:
Using keywords in your text
Update your pages periodically

31. Using Keywords
The following page is a list of the top keywords for Google searches. To optimize your site, do the following:
Use keywords once every 100 to 200 words of text.
Using keywords too frequently will actually cause your site to be penalized and lower your ranking.
Add keywords for the business type, industry and geographic area.
