2. Chess Club Rules No Derogatory language
Clean up after each practice and Match
Respect others
Use of Profanity will result in banishment from the club. ( 1 year suspension if lucky )

3. How does it Work ? King can only move 1 space any direction
Bishop can move diagonally.
Rook can move forward, backwards, right, and left.
Knight can in an “ L “ shape
Queen is the most powerful piece on the board. She can move any direction
Castling: You can not touch or move the rook or the King.

6. Tournament Rules Once you touch a piece, you have to move that piece
If you feel that a piece needs to be straightened say “ Straightening” before touching that piece
Go by the honors code
Bad Sportsmanship will not be tolerated !!!!!!!
You have 1 hour to complete the match
We go by the point system

7. Point System King = Game Queen = 9 Points Rook = 5 Points
Knight = 3 Points
Bishop = Knight
Pawn = 1

8. Challenges The person can only challenge the person of the their level
Checkmate rule is enforced
The challenger can not take his or her place if he does not win by a legitimate checkmate
