1 THE VIRGIN BIRTH OF CHRIST
LUKE 1:26-38

2 Many people deny the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1: "For with God nothing will be impossible.'' There is a need for this lesson periodically lest we forget. Every new generation must be taught this. The truth can be lost in one generation. II Peter 1: Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you.

3 What Rejecting Or Ignoring The Virgin Birth Means
You reject the deity of Jesus. If Jesus had both an earthly mother and father He could not be the Son of God. You reject the inspiration of the Bible The virgin birth was prophesied. The Virgin Birth was recorded as an actual event. II Timothy 3: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, You reject the supernatural nature of Christ. 2 greatest miracles The Virgin Birth The Resurrection To reject these is to reject all His miracles.

4 The Bible Declares Jesus Was Born Of A Virgin
It was prophesied in the Old Testament. Isaiah 7: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. It was fulfilled in the New Testament. Matthew 1:18, Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

5 To deny the virgin birth is to deny the Scriptures.
Luke 1: Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1: Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?'' And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. To deny the virgin birth is to deny the Scriptures.

6 The Bible Declares That Jesus Was And Is The Son Of God
Luke 1: And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the High- est will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Romans 1: And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, John 3: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

7 Joseph was not the father of Jesus.
Genesis 3: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.'' Galatians 4: But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law. Luke 2: So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.'' And He said to them, "Why is it that you sought Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?''

8 Jesus had to be 100% human and 100% deity so he could:
Matthew 1: Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ. Jesus had to be 100% human and 100% deity so he could: Be the perfect mediator One equal to both parties I Timothy 2: For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

9 One who could make the perfect sacrifice
Become our High Priest. One who could make the perfect sacrifice Hebrews 4: Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Be the perfect sacrifice.

10 Hebrews 7: Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. Hebrews 9: So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
