Question 1 is a straightforward question about how the extract fits the conventions of the genre Make sure you know about action adventure conventions, such as the use of a laughter track or a domestic setting Question 2 is usually divided into four parts and asks for analysis of techniques, such as camerawork, editing or soundtrack Make sure you give a specific example and explain how the technique creates an effect Make sure you use the correct media terms Question 3 is a short essay which varies, asking about how people are represented in the action adventure genre Aim to spend no more than one minute a mark – a question worth 12 marks should only take 12 minutes to answer Task if time – they write down all the questions that could be asked for Q1 Laughter track Small no characters Conventional camerawork and editing Real locations Entrapment Everyday life
