Areas of involvement: Directly support > 40 Windows Servers NT4 to 2003 server Domain controllers, clustered servers, application/web servers, database servers Use both direct attached disk and SAN Provide central SUS service for patch management to campus Maintain central infrastructure for Trend Antivirus software Many projects involving other areas of ITS such as DRP, Account Management, firewalls, VPN

Backup approximately 20TB per month Recent Projects Upgrade to Networker 7 Staging majority of backups to disk (except PeopleSoft); 3 day retention. Addition of 2 tape drives to library in SLB Automation of some of the daily processes involving operations Update of ITS Legato website Upcoming Projects Continue fine tuning staging/automating processes Staging of PeopleSoft backups RMAN – initially ITS databases Increase disk retention to 7 days (10TB of staging disk) Upcoming changes to data storage may have impact on legato processes (SNAP) Redundancy of Legato service in SLB Looking into new solutions – i.e. “bare metal restores”; LTO3 tape technology
