3 UC/CSU Admission Requirements

Univ. of California California State Univ. 9 Campuses: UC Los Angeles, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego 23 Campuses: Humboldt, Chico, Sonoma, Maritime, Sacramento, East Bay, San Francisco, Stanislaus, San Jose, Fresno, Monterey Bay, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Northridge, Channel Islands, Los Angeles, Dominguez Hills, Long Beach, Pomona, Fullerton, San Bernardino, San Marcos, San Diego (Campuses in bold are impacted and may have additional admissions requirements) Accept top 12.5% of high school graduates. Accept top 33% of high school graduates Cost: Approximately $32,000/yr. Cost: Approximately $28,000/yr depending on where you live

5 UC/CSU Admission Requirements
SAT/ACT Testing You should have already taken the SAT and/or ACT at least once by now. If you are applying to UC’s you should have already taken the SAT Subject Tests. If you are applying to impacted CSU campuses, you must take the SAT and/or ACT regardless of your GPA. Some impacted campuses require testing to be completed by November. Check websites for specific campus requirements. SAT Test Dates: Registration Deadline (collegeboard.com) November 5th October 7th December 3rd November 8th ACT Test Dates: Registration Deadline (actstudent.org) December 10th November 4th SEE YOUR COUNSELOR ASAP IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS/CONCERNS ABOUT TESTING REQUIREMENTS!!!

6 Ventura Community College
If you are planning on attending VC, we will take you to the college and help you get registered in the Spring. IMPORTANT: You CANNOT transfer to a UC or CSU without completing 60 transferable units. This generally means TWO YEARS (or MORE) of community college before you can transfer.

7 Private college/university
If you are planning on attending a private college/university YOU need to find all info on your own. Come see us for help! -- Does the school use the Common app, dates, letters of rec (and from who), CSS Profile, etc. are all different for each school.

8 Online College Application Form Workshops
During Fall Break: Create application log-on and complete as much of the online application forms as you can. Tuesday, Nov. 1st: UC Application Workshop Wednesday, Nov. 2nd: CSU Application Workshop Thursday, Nov. 3rd: Common Application Workshop TIME: 2:00 pm PLACE: Media Center PLEASE NOTE: Requests for Letters of Recommendation are due to your counselor at least TWO WEEKS before the college or university application deadline!!!
