Definition: ‘the process of identifying, measuring and communicating economic information to permit informed judgements and decisions by users of the information’. American Accounting Association Users decisions are dependent on accounting information Very important that that information is reliable Businesses are very complex entities and so explaining that information is difficult (as is understanding it)
