§ English Language Arts and Reading, English I -- High School (21) Research/Gathering Sources. Students determine, locate, and explore the full range of relevant sources addressing a research question and systematically record the information they gather. Students are expected to: (A) follow the research plan to compile data from authoritative sources in a manner that identifies the major issues and debates within the field of inquiry; (B) organize information gathered from multiple sources to create a variety of graphics and forms (e.g., notes, learning logs); and (C) paraphrase, summarize, quote, and accurately cite all researched information according to a standard format (e.g., author, title, page number).

7 Digital Note-taking THEN
The “Original” Method Digital Notetaking (then)

8 Digital Note-taking NOW
The new note-taking method is easier, quicker, and more efficient than the prior version. It allowed note taking while reading as opposed to having to reread after you have decided what is important. You can easily mark direct quotes you want while also writing why. After note taking is complete, it formats everything nicely in one place. This works well as I do not have to worry if I did not copy everything I needed from an article. I like how it automatically copies the citation and formats my notes under the corresponding piece of text. I did not like how the old digital notes were formatted. Gale/Google now notetaking
