3 Summary of Competitors' Products
New features are slowly added to XtremIO in multiple versions since its release in XtremIO cannot Scale up or provide outstanding performance. Its costs are rather high (large footprint and requiring VPLEX and RecoverPoint to establish solutions). Pure Storage achieves some progress in the new business mode (free controller replacement within 3 years), large I/O performance (claimed 32,000 IOPS), and deduplication and compression effects. However, it cannot provide powerful software functionality and solution capabilities. Pure Storage does not offer performance values in the OLTP mode (small I/Os, 4 KB/8 KB). Its dual controllers in active-passive mode are under criticism. EMC takes great efforts to rebuild VMAX and Unity for SSD adaptations (original COW pools rebuilt as ROW pools). It releases VMAX AF and Unity F, which are expanding upon the rich features of hybrid storage. However, since these products do not adapt the native architecture, they cannot support inline deduplication or provide outstanding IOPS at a stable latency. After gaining no achievements in the all-flash project Flash Ray, NetApp had to rely on its hybrid storage FAS series to launch AFA and A series. These products provide high hardware configurations and post-processing (not inline) deduplication. Their advantages lie in FAS-based rich features and powerful solution capabilities. 3PAR's all-flash series has almost exactly the same all-flash configurations as hybrid storage. It is a typical optimized all-flash product. COW-based read and write mode is often under attack. Its performance under typical OLTP scenarios is also lackluster. However, it can provide Scale-out capabilities, unique ASIC architecture, and high cost effectiveness from the compact design. HDS starts late in the layout of all-flash products and its HFS A series reached the end of lifecycle for certain reasons. Expanding upon the advantages of the hybrid storage VSP G series, the VSP F series still uses traditional COW-based read and write mode and does not support inline deduplication (supports post-processing deduplication). It provides compression using FMD. IBM is a marketing innovation company, not a technical innovation one. It acquired TMS's FlashSystem in However, since its FlashSystem cannot provide rich features required by the enterprise market due to the "hardware-defined" concept, IBM combines SVC with FlashSystem to form V9000/A9000/A9000R products, using SVC's rich software features to strengthen FlashSystem. These combined products have large sizes with poor scalability and long I/O protocol stacks. Later, IBM uses StorWize series hybrid storage to package various types of F series, passively responding to market demands. These products lack innovations.

The second is Dorado6000 V3, it has 3U controllers enclosure and 2U SSD disk enclosure. It can support 4 controllers in this version and 16 controllers in next version, the 4 million IOPS I have introduced will reached in 16 controllers SPC-1 test mode. In the hardware, Dorado6000 V3 supports 1TB cache, 56 host ports and 100 SAS SSDs per dual controllers. Darado5000 V3 supports 2 verison, the first is SAS version, the another is NVMe version. The SAS version support 256GB cache,24 host ports and 100 SAS SSDs per dual controllers,the NVMe version supports 512GB cache, 24 host ports and 25 NVMe SSDs per dual controllers. All of Dorado5000 and 6000 V3 support 8 Gigabyte bit Firer channel, 16 Gigabyte bits fiber channel, 10 Gigabyte bits Ethernet and 56 Gigabyte infiniBand. In the software, Dorado5000 V3 and Dorado6000 V3 is the same. Both of them support smart series efficiency improvement software,including compression ,deduplication and Thin space inefficient improving software, heterogeneous virtualization software and data migration Software. The hardware contains engine, front-end interface module, back-end module, SSD, disk enclosure, and components. Now dorado5000 V3 NVMe version support 25 SSDs per dual controllers, the dorado6000 V3 and Dorado5000 V3 SAS version support disk enclosure and back-end interface module. The Dorado5000 V3 and 6000 V3 have the same software. Both of them contain basic software, in less than OceanStor V3.only hyperSnap, hypermetro and hyperReplication, smart series only virtualization. Service is the same as OceanStor V3.

27 Steps to Configure Dorado V3
Optional Go to UniSTAR eCFG/SCT. Select a product model. Dorado5000 V3 or Dorado6000 V3 Select new or expansion. Newly built or expansion project. If you select expansion, the system prompts you to input the SSD capacity on your field network. Select controller quantity. 2 or 4 controllers (Only Dorado6000 V3 supports 4 controllers) Select a controller enclosure. Select front-end expansion I/O modules. Dorado 6000 V3 Specify cache specifications Select SSD quantity. Select detailed specifications. How we configure Dorado V3? Step 1 ,we logging in the SCT for enterprise or CFG for carrier. Step2 ,we select the product dorado5000 V3 or 6000 V3. Step 3,select new or expansion. Step 4, select 2 or 4 controllers. Step 5,select cache Step 6, select the front-end I/O module Step7, select the SSD number, then it can calculate disk enclosure automatically. Step8, select the cable Step9, select software Step10,select service. There is only 2 controllers in the first version SCT, so you can skip the step 3 and 4. Step8 and 9 is optional. Now the SCT and CFG are authorized to all SA, you can ask them to help you configure. Select front-end expansion I/O modules. Dorado 5000 V3 Specify cache specifications Select SSD type/quantity. Select the disk type and quantity. Select cables, modems, cabinets, & encryption solution. Note: The maximum numbers of interface modules and disks should be in accordance with the specifications. Since Dorado6000 V3 does not have onboard interface modules, you must select front- and back-end interface modules. On Dorado5000 V3 SAS, each controller has 4 onboard SmartIO ports, 2x4*12Gbps SAS ports. On Dorado5000 V3 NVMe, each controller has 4 onboard SmartIO ports. 28 Precautions on Interface Modules

Some precaution you should pay more attention: The front-end module, dorado v3 support 8Gigabyte Fiber channel smartIO module, 16 Gigabyte Fiber channel smartIO module, and 10 Gigabyte Ethernet smartIO module,56 Gigabyte infiniband module. There is 8 gigabyte fiber channel modle only used for active-active solution, which optimized the Fiber channel protocol. There is PCIe interface module for scale-out, applying it connect the storage controller and PCIe switch. For dorado6000 V3 and Dorado5000 V3 SAS version, both of them applying the 12Gigabyte SAS module connecting to the SAS disk enclosure. All of these module, you should configure in pairs. And when you select 1 in configurator, it will configure one pair automatically. *Dorado6000 V3 supports 16 slots per dual controllers. Dorado5000 V3 supports 4 expansion slots per dual controllers.

Only after the encryption disks are configured, you can select the HSM model and warranty services. The unit can be modified to 1 set. Warranty service of key management servers Premium Support of THALES KMIP KeyAuthority,Manufacturer Service,1 year,7*24 services Warranty service quantity of key management servers = (Required warranty period – 3) x Number of key management servers, because each key management server is configured with 3-year warranty by default. Client license KeyAuthority endpoint license(single),Electronic Configure license quantities based on the client quantity. License quantity = (Number of clients – 1) x Number of key management servers. Each key management server is configured with one client. When there is only one array equipped with key management servers, there is no need to configure additional client licenses. Client license warranty service Premium Support of 1 THALES KMIP KeyAuthority endpoint license,Manufacturer Service,1 year,7*24 services Client license warranty service year = [(Number of clients – 1) x Number of key management servers] x (Warranty service year – 1). Each client is configured with one-year warranty by default. The warranty strategies of built-in clients should be consistent with those of the clients' corresponding key management servers.

34 Other Precautions (1) Controller enclosure: SSD:
Dorado6000 V3: Controller enclosures must be selected based on memory specifications. When four controllers are deployed or more controllers are added, the two controller enclosures must have the same CPU and memory specifications. Dorado5000 V3: Controller enclosures must be selected based on disk types (SAS or NVMe) and onboard frontend interface modules. SSD: Dorado6000 V3 supports 4controllers and 200 x SAS SSDs Dorado5000 V3 supports SAS SSD and NVMe SSD. The NVMe version supports 2 controllers and 25 x NVMe SSDs; the SAS version supports 2 controllers and 100 SAS SSDs. Newly deployed two controllers must have the same SSD capacity and accommodate 8 or more SSDs in initial configuration. Four coffer disks must have the same capacity and be placed in slots 1 to 4 of the first enclosure in the first expansion loop. When four controllers are deployed for Dorado6000 V3, the disk type and quantity of each pair of controllers must be the same. When four controllers are expanded for Dorado6000 V3, the two pairs of controllers must be expanded at the same time using the same number and type of disks. Not support mix configuration with different capacity SSDs during pool construction. SSDs with larger capacity can be used for pool expansion. Not support mix configuration with encrypted and unencrypted SSDs in the same pool. There are other precaution, you should pay more attention about 2 case: The initial SSD configure no is 8 and the 8 SSD is the same capacity. For example,900 Gigabyte. Now we can not support 2 controllers expands to 4 controllers, we only can support configure 4 controllers install. The configure of each two configure are the same, for example, CPU, memory, SSD, and others. Others you can view it detail later.

35 Other Precautions (2) Interface module: SAS cable: PCIe switch module:
Each controller of Dorado6000 V3 allows a maximum of four SAS interface modules. On Dorado5000 V3 (SAS), each controller allows configuring of only one SAS interface module. Dorado5000 V3(NVMe) does not support configuring of the disk expansion module. Each pair of SAS interface modules can connect to 2 disk enclosures at most. When four controllers are deployed for Dorado6000 V3, the two pairs of controllers must be configured with the same front- and back-end interface modules (same type and quantity). When interface modules are added to the four controllers of Dorado6000 V3, the adding must be performed for the two pairs of controllers at the same time and ensure that the type and quantity of added interface modules are the same. SAS cable: By default, disk enclosures are not configured with SAS cables. The maximum number of expansion levels in a loop is 1. Two disk enclosures cannot be connected with each other Disk enclosures use two ports for parallel connection. Each disk enclosure requires four SAS cables to connect to a controller enclosure. By default, the configurator places one two-controller (four disk enclosures) or four-controller (eight disk enclosures) storage system in the same cabinet. If they are different cabinets, the configurator notifies field engineers to select proper SAS cables (5 m). PCIe switch module: Only when Dorado6000 V3 is configured with 4 controllers, each controller is configured with a PCIe switch module. Each PCIe switch module is configured with two AOC cables. Scalability: Dorado6000 V3R1C01 version (GA: ) supports the initial configuration of 2 or 4 controllers. V3R1C20/C21 (GA: ) will support the initial configuration of 8 controllers and scale-up from 2 controllers to 4. Dorado5000 V3R1C01 version (GA: ) supports the initial configuration of only 2 controllers. V3R1C20/C21 (GA: ) will support the initial configuration of 4 controllers and scale-up from 2 controllers to 4.
