2 Health Insurance Policy
All students must have valid health insurance for the entire term. If you do not have insurance through a sponsoring agency, you must purchase health insurance from Drexel University Health Insurance Cards Students will receive their health insurance cards during orientation.

3 NEED FOR HEALTH INSURANCE
US does not have a national health insurance program Individuals and families in the US are responsible for these costs themselves Beginning in 2014, it became a law that you must have health insurance Students at the ELC must obtain health insurance to be protected against any potentially expensive healthcare costs Health services in the US can be extremely expensive without insurance coverage Without health insurance, you will be treated in an emergency, but other care may be denied

5 HEALTH INSURANCE| 5 ALL Drexel students, including ELC students MUST have health insurance. This is how the university protects itself and YOU from disease outbreaks and other health crises. ALL ELC students must the health insurance policy arranged by Drexel LEC or government sponsor. IF you do not keep your health care, you will not be able to continue as a student at Drexel.

PLAN OVERVIEW| 11 WHAT IS AN “IN-NETWORK DOCTOR”? The “network” is the group of doctors and hospitals that work with an insurance plan. An In-Network Provider is a doctor, hospital, or other medical provider who will accept this health insurance plan as payment When you go to an In-Network Provider, the insurance plan covers 100%

Go to: On the home page, under “Select your Network”, click on “PHCS Network” Then choose a provider type, click “Doctor” or “Facility” Under “Location”, enter search radius (for example, 5 miles) Enter Zip Code (19104) Enter “Type of Doctor”, Choose specialty from drop-down menus Click “Continue” The website will help you find a physician or hospital.
