4. BFA or BA?
Both degrees require students to complete their university's general education requirements, such as math, science and foreign language classes. The BFA provides a more specialized curriculum than the BA. BFA often requires students to choose one concentration within their art form. BFA in Creative Writing tends to be more workshops and less literary courses .Students take a workshop every semester, and study modern and contemporary writers. Things that shape writing right now. This emphasis grants students focused, professional training rather than the exploration of a BA. The BA in English with a writing track or concentration is designed for students who seek to study an art form in conjunction with another major or minor.

Do your individual research. Look at the faculty of each school; read their work. Which style meshes most with your own? You want to find school that will be a good match for your work and the work you want to develop.

A degree in creative writing does not guarantee success as a writer.
A very small percentage of students who major in creative writing will find success as a poet, fiction writer, or screenwriter. However, this path gives you a strong command of the written word that can lead to success in many different areas.
There are many avenues in which you can take the knowledge and skills you build in this degree path.
