GCSE Maths, English – Grade C or above Primary & Early Years require Science GCSE Grade C In 2013 passing the Numeracy & Literacy QTS Skills Tests before the course began became a requirement 50,000 courses in the UCAS system

Tests student competency in numeracy, literacy Regardless of specialism Usually - pass required before programme commences Tests are computerized, approx 40 centers across UK Edge Hill University has its own test centre on site – one of only 2 universities in the UK

9 School Direct School Direct is a new and innovative approach to ITT that can be designed to be bespoke to trainee and school cluster needs. Edge Hill University is proud to offer its PGCE in partnership with schools nationally. (See website for full list of partnership schools) Addresses the same learning outcomes as the University based PGCE, with the additional benefits of providing distinct and bespoke training activities in schools.  Application is conducted through UCAS, and applicants apply to a specific school in a specific geographical area. The Lead School is very much involved in the selection and recruitment process. A thorough and rigorous interview process is carried out within the school and applicants are interviewed in Lead Schools by members of staff from Edge Hill University and the Lead School. Applications can be a mix of PGCE and School Direct
