Bay Coast * Central Valley * Northern * San Diego/Imperial * Southern MISSION Partnerships Financials The mission of California School Nurses Organization, the leading force for excellence in school health services, is to ensure that school nurses optimize student health and enhance learning through a network distinguished by: Facilitating grassroots efforts within regional sections; Developing and providing professional learning opportunity; Fostering the development of leaders; Conducting research and using evidence based practice; Providing standards of care; AND Advocating for school health services. A new membership database was selected that expanded membership capacity including but not limited to membership statistics; electronic communication and electronic payment. Type additional information or methods here. Product launch Conference Attendance 501(c)(3) Status! One main focus of CSNO is to provide professional learning through local and state level conferences. CSNO has moved to an electronic means for conference registration so that numbers may be tracked. CSNO transitioned from a 501(c)(6) to a 501(c)(3) IRS classification which means exemption from federal and/or state corporate income taxes; Ability to apply for grants and other public or private allocations available only to IRS-recognized, 501(c)(3) organizations; Potentially higher thresholds before incurring federal and/or state unemployment tax liabilities; The public legitimacy of IRS recognition; and Discounts on US Postal bulk-mail rates and other services. With this new 501(c)(3) status, CSNO will have the ability to receive donations from individuals and entities wishing to donate to CSNO as a nonprofit organization.
