3 The Team Since 1979 CRID has brought together a unique interdisciplinary team of researchers, who now number about thirty, to carry out research in the field of information and communication technologies from : legal socio-economic perspectives technical

Electronic commerce and network law Legal computer sciences Regulation and political economy of telecommunications Protection of products services and communication Privacy, access and freedom in society

5 First area of research Electronic Commerce and Network Law
contract law, liability and evidence commercial, financial and taxation law commercial practices and consumer protection

6 An example of current project
(Electronic-Commerce Legal Issues Platform) the project sets up a platform on the legal issues of electronic commerce with the objective of providing legal support to EC-funded RTD projects on any issue of law linked to electronic commerce.

In the Coordinating Project for Electronic Authors Rights Management Systems, the CRID has analysed the legal consequences of the use of Electronic Rights Management Systems (ERMS)

15 IV Documentation Centre
The CRID manages a documentation centre which contains more than 1500 monographs and over 30 specialised journals systematically itemised in a bibliographic database. The documentation centre is open to the public

16 V. The postgraduate diploma
The University of Namur offers an interdisciplinary postgraduate diploma in the law and management of information and communication technologies (DGTIC). The DGTIC has created its own publication, ‘Ubiquité’, to allow the students and searchers to publish their works.
