Kiama Jamberoo Uniting Church A Review of the last four (4) Years Cliff Mason

Committee elected by the Congregation in June 2012 In August 2012, conducted a S.W.O.T. analysis of all our properties, and Congregational assets & users, Ralph Szulerowski focused the review on Demographics (Church & Community), Debt (Social debt for Ministry), Deflation (drop-off in offerings) and Inflation (increasing costs/expenses), Identified 4 major projects: Refurbishment of Manse by Property Commitee ($55,000) Renegotiation of Kiama Council Car Park Lease (raised $12K pa) Possible subdivision & sale of unused land at Jamberoo UC Repair of Heritage buildings & refurbishment of FC

3 2013 – 2014 Milestones Engaged the services of a property design consultant to prepare property Dilapidation & Development reports, Completed refurbishment of Irvine St Manse, February 2014 – Rev Robert (& Thea) started their Ministry, Successfully forced design changes to the adjacent 3-storey Manning Street development proposal (Joel Redelman), Engaged MMJ to prepare Jamberoo subdivision options August Church Leaders Retreat at Abbey – to review our Mission December 2014 – Congregation approved subdivision DA Signed new Car Park lease with Kiama Council Started Kiama Concept Planning process – surveyed users

4 2015 – 2016 Subdivision Progress
June 2015 – Special Congregation Meeting to consider Mission Plan from CC & early Kiama upgrade plans June 2015 – Jamberoo DA/Reports lodged with Council October 2015 – Kiama Council gave consent to DA, and we were approached to use hall for a Child Care Centre Nov 2015 – Engaged Allen Price & Scarratts to manage the construction phase of subdivision February 2016 – submitted modified Construction Certificate, approved in April 2016 June Cemetery restored and major construction completed – Lots put on market for sale Late July 2016 – Both Lots sold for a total of $797,000 Waiting for sewer connection – expect Settlement late 2016

5 Kiama Upgrade - Concept Planning
October 2015 – After tender process, engaged Architect Edmiston Jones (AEJ) to take Concept Plans to next stage Presented the 2015 Mission Plans & facility user survey responses to Mark Jones (AEJ) – finalised spatial needs January 2016 – Congregation asked to reflect on a future church, and what we need to do now to get there, June 2016 – Initial Concept Plans posted on Notice Board, August 2016 – Final ”DA Ready” plans reported & posted, The Congregation will need to consider our Mission Plans & the best way to utilise our sales proceeds for God’s work, Today – “Jamberoo Futures” discussion paper tabled (Rev Robert to discuss) Finish of Presentation
