4. Interstate Highways Five major interstates include:
I-85, I-75, I-20, I-95, I-16
Interstate highways have limited access and higher speeds compared to regular roadways. These highways move people and products across our state quickly.

5. DEEP WATER SEAPORTS
Georgia has two major deep-water ports, Savannah and Brunswick.
Ports provide jobs for Georgians
Ports move foreign and domestic products into Georgia through container shipping
Ports are connected to the Interstate system as well as Georgia’s vast railroad network.
Ports therefore provide more jobs to transport and sell these goods.

7. Natural Waterways water = transportation of people & goods
Georgia also has two inland barge terminals , Bainbridge and Columbus
There are also many rivers in Georgia which provided early settlers with a ready means for travel
The largest rivers in Georgia are the Savannah, Chattahoochee, Flint, Altamaha, Ogeechee, Oconee, Ocumulgee, St. Marys and Satilla

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world. This

Railroads are connected to the deep water ports and to many cities in Georgia as well as across the country.

11. What If???
In black pen and complete sentences, respond to one of the following scenarios using what you have learned about the connections between Georgia’s Transportation Systems (classwork grade):
Scenario #1: Make a prediction of what would happen to business in Georgia if Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport closed. Include at least three examples of how it would affect the state (economy, jobs, traffic, flow of products) and other transportation systems.
Scenario #2: Make a prediction of the impact of drastically dropping water levels in the ocean and in Georgia’s inland waterways. Include at least three regions of Georgia that would be affected along with what industries within those regions would also change. Include which two transportation systems would also be most affected.
