Where might an ‘artist’ logo be used? Each of these situations has slightly different requirements and needs. Sometimes necessary to have different versions of a design to make it more suitable for a specific purpose. (e.g. Black and white, Colour) Discuss in Pairs Where might an ‘artist’ logo be used? Can understand how logos identify bands/artists and justify a chosen shape for own logo design Can draw a shape accurately using the ‘pen tool’ in Fireworks using skills including; pen tool, fill, stroke, sub-selection tool Excellence Can set up a document in Adobe Fireworks, import and image and have good use of the pen tool. Good understanding of the ‘Properties’ Developing Can set up a document in Adobe Fireworks, import and image and have good use of the pen tool Secure Can select and justify a chosen shape for own logo design Foundation Can understand how logos identify bands/artists

Shapes in logos Shapes are very important within logo design. They help to structure the logo. Some logos consist of images and some add text. Have a look at these examples...

6 Text Logos Some logos are only made up of text. When using text what important factors need to be considered: Font style Font size Colour Style Background colour Effects Shadow Stroke option filters
