Bass Lake Association of Wright County, Annandale, MN
Ref: Auditor’s Report
On this date I completed a review of the financial status of this association. Bank statements from June of 2013 to the present were reviewed and found complete and accurate. Comparison of the check register and all bank statements from Annandale State Bank found no discrepancies during the entire year. The current accounting method was acceptable and may continue for the next year without any significant changes.

13. Association Registrations & Renewals
Renewed membership in Wright County COLA
Renewed Federal IRS 501 (c) registration for 2014 at beginning of year
Retained tax exempt status for Bass Lake Assn
Retained tax exempt status for dues and contributions to the organization
Renewed Minnesota registration with MN Secretary of State's office at beginning of year
All required registrations or renewals are in place for calendar year 2014

14. Boat Landing Monitor Program (update from last year's project)
Lake Monitor in place from weekend of July 6 – Sept 15.
Contracted with Anchor Dock & Lift
Weekend days only
Just over 60 boat launches were monitored
No major violations noted with regard to drain plugs, live wells, weeds on props or trailers
22 boat owners had been on lakes with known invasive species (zebra mussels, Eurasian mil foil, purple leaf strife, Asian carp, etc.)
Only 4 of the 22 boat owners had power washed their boats and trailers

Results of last year's program were disappointing
Missed opportunity to provide training to boaters visiting the lake due to poorly trained monitor
Data reporting was hand written, and detailed information missing from many reports
Data was not submitted to the DNR
Benefits of the program did not outweigh the costs
In spite of this, the DNR maintains that monies spent on prevention is far less than the cost of reparation

16. Invasive Specie Update
Muskrat population
Remains under control for now
35 Muskrats trapped last Spring and Fall
No additional trapping warranted this Spring
Will monitor population to see if further trapping is needed this fall
Lake residents encouraged to note where runs are located to facilitate trapping this Fall. Send info to Connie Crane (Healthy Lakes Chair)

17. Invasive Species Update Cont.
Curlyleaf Pondweed
Board Decision made last fall to treat the Curlyleaf this Spring
Permit applied for and approved by the DNR to treat a maximum of 13.8 littoral acres
Application for Grant Money Submitted in February 2014.
DNR awarded Bass Lake Assn $1,440 grant to help off-set treatment costs
Delineation Survey completed by Freshwater Scientific on May 16th. Point Intercept Survey to be done in August
Lake Restorations Services, LLC applied Endothal to Zones 2- 6 on May 22
Total Cost of Survey & Treatment was $6,500
