3 Creating Walk Books Go to the assign work and select Walk Book on the admin website. Click on New Walk Book. Select your survey. Select your jurisdiction (usually county). Select desired precincts and click “Show Map” Advantage, Inc. © 2016

4 Selecting Houses, Creating a Route
The first view on the map will be a high level. All the map points in your selected precinct should look well organize / clumped together as shown here. Zoom in to get a better view of the area. Find a logical place to start your walk route and click on the on that map point. Next click “Set Start Point” User your mouse clicking around the map to select your walk area. On the first click, you will “drop” a flag on them map. Once you’ve select the area you want, click on the flag to complete the selection. At the bottom of the screen you will see how many houses have been selected. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

5 Name & Assign the Walk Book
Last steps….. Select your volunteer(s) for the walk book. If you select more than one volunteer, you can check the box “Divide the list among Volunteers, to automatically divide the list between them. To give two or more volunteers the same walk book, leave the box unchecked. Important Note: We do not recommend assigning more than 300 houses to any one volunteer. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

6 Walk Book Details From the Walk Book Details page you can…
Print the walk book (see following page) Edit the volunteer(s) assigned. Review and print map view of the selected area. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

7 Printing Walk Books Selecting print on the Walk Book Details page will direct you To the “Print Walk Book with QR Code/Bar Code” page shown here. If you have more than one volunteered to the walk book, you can select and print the list only for the volunteers needing a paper copy. Data can be entered from paper walk books by: Go to the walk book lookup page Search for your walkbook by name or other options Selection the walkbook and find the “enter results” button on the walkbook summary page. 8 Printing Mass Walk Books
On the navigation bar (black bar on the left side of your screen), under “Assign Work” find and select the “Print Mass Walk Books” option Give the mass walk book you are printing a name. 12 Creating a Walk Book on the Fly
Select “Walk Route from My Location” Select your Survey From this step, there are two options: Select the number of houses and tap submit. The app will find your location by GPS and assign you a walk list. OR Enter the jurisdiction and precincts where you want to walk. Not sure which jurisdiction/precinct you are in? Tap “Where am I?” to find out. If you selection Propensity to Vote or party affiliation and get “no records found” after submitting, remove those selections and try again. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

13 Using Walk Books Keep the list of voters in the house available until you see who answers the door. Then select the person and the appropriate voter response Tap on the voter’s name on the list or a point on the map to bring up information on who lives at each house. Note 1: The software will always default back to the list not the map to preserve your battery. Note 2: The map will only update if you have an internet connection. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

14 Using Walk Books & Sync If you have an Internet connection, please Sync your device to the database every 2 or 3 houses. Simply select Sync on the menu bar. If there are surveys or new voters pending, tap the red sync button and follow the screens. If you do not have Internet access or have a weak connection (1 bar or less), please sync when you return home or another location with Internet service. When you have finished with each voter, tap “Back to Voter List” on this screen. Advantage, Inc. © 2016

“Find Voter” Tap the campaign button at the bottom of the screen. Enter the voter’s last name, home state and zip code, tap submit. Confirm the voter’s information, tap submit. Take the survey, tap save. Tap “Back to Voter List” to return to the Look Up Voter screen. “Find Voter” allows surveys to be taken without an assigned walk list. Advantage, Inc. © 2016
