This being New Year’s Day is a grand opportunity.
Gives us a chance to begin today by making one positive resolution.
Will you spend each day of this year in the Word of God?
So many benefits to daily Bible reading.

3. A Healthy Attitude About Bible Study
“Establish Your word to Your servant, as that which produces reverence for You.”
Psalm 119:38
Our whole life is about reverence for God. We need His word living in us.

4. God’s Word Is A Light To Guide Us
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 19:8 – “The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.”

5. Understanding Christ as the Enlightening Word
John 1:1,4-5,9,14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it….There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man….And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

6. God’s Word Is Pure
Psalm 119:140 – “Your word is very pure, therefore Your servant loves it.”
Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
Where do we find such things?

7. Mighty God
Psalm 12:6 – “The words of the Lord are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.”
Psalm 119:9 – “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.”

8. We Must Make Our Minds Pure
Titus 1:15 – “To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.”

9. God’s Word Is Truth
Psalm 119:160 – “The sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.”
John 17:17 – “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”

10. That Truth Makes Us Free
John 8:32 – “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
How does Truth make us free?
By revealing God’s will for our best life.
By showing us how to be saved from sin.
By keeping us in God’s grace.

11. So We Must Walk In The Truth
3 John 1:4 – “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.”
Is there anything better than walking in God’s truth? Any wiser decision for the path of our lives? God’s way is the absolute BEST way there is.

12. The Word Of The Lord Is Tested
Psalm 18:30 – “As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.”
What is the value of the Word of God having been TRIED?

13. His Word Is Dependable/Eternal
Matthew 5:18 – “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”
Matthew 24:35 – “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”

14. God’s Word Is Eternal and Unchanging
Psalm 119:89 – “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.”
Neglecting God’s word endangers your walk.
It hampers your growth.
It exposes you to Satan’s lies.
It diminishes your usefulness to God.
Don’t let that happen to you!
