4 Annantalo Arts Centre Art educational unit of Helsinki City Culture Office The building was originally a primary school designed in 1886. One century later, in 1987 it was converted by the City of Helsinki into an arts centre for children and youth. Annantalo is a multidisciplinary art centre which provides children, young people and families of Helsinki art education, exhibitions, festivals, performances and events through school programs and free time activities. Part of the Cultural Services department, one of the seven cultural centers in Helsinki, only one dedicated to children and youth

School groups work together with an artist five times two hours during the school day = 10 hours Teachers professional artists and art educators Small groups, each group concentrating on one discipline Professionally equipped studios, professional materials and tools Free of charge to the schools Every child in Helsinki has a chance to participate once during the primary school time (4800 students annually)
