1 1. We’re Swamped! By John Jacobson and John Higgins (Solo 1) (Solo 2) (Both) Hello, everybody, and welcome to our show. Sorry we’re a little late, but we’d like you to know: We pride ourselves on being particularly prompt. By now you might have guessed, That we’re all a little swamped! (All) Hey, you in the fog, we’re glad to see you. Come down to the bog, and see what we do. It’s fun in the slime, and it won’t cost you a dime. There’s so much to do, so little time! We’re swamped! Yeah, we’re swamped! And you can bet we get wet, as wet as wet can get. But it’s the most fun we’ve had yet! We got loads o’ toads. Hey, there’s a turtle! That bump in the road’s a turtle hurdle. Got tadpoles galore, and snakes are never a bore, ‘Cause this is the “wildlife” we adore! We’ve got crickets, ‘n’ birds, ‘n’ dragonflies, it’s true. You might see a butterfly too. But you better watch out for that lazy alligator! He might take a bite outta you! (spoken) We’re really busy! 2 2. The Swamp Stomp By John Jacobson and John Higgins Everyone thinks that hoppin’s our thing. Well, matter o’ fact, what we do is sing. And Saturday night, by croaky, we stomp! We stomp! Like they do at the Okefenokee, we stomp! We stomp! One at a time, or all in a row, Now every good frog does the “do si do.” Stomp to the left, an’ stomp to the right. Stomp all day an’ half o’ the night! Then we head to the swamp for a late night soak and Crrrrroak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Then we head to the swamp for a late night soak and Crrrrroak! Dance in a line, or do it alone. We’re movin’ with friends, never on our own. And Saturday night, by croaky, we stomp! We stomp! Like they do at the Okefenokee, we stomp! We stomp! Stomp to the left, an’ stomp to the right. Stomp all day an’ half o’ the night! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Croak! Then we head to the swamp for a late night soak and Crrrrroak! 3 3. Just a Little Tadpole By John Jacobson and John Higgins (Solo) I’m just a little tadpole, swimming with my friends. If you’re a little tadpole, the fun never ends. (All) I wiggle my tail, I jiggle with charm. Then, suddenly … (a few voices) Suddenly … I grow an arm! A tadpole! A tadpole! A young pollywog in an old foggy bog, And maybe, someday, I’ll grow up to be … a real live FROG! I wiggle my tail since I left my egg. Then, suddenly … (a few voices) Suddenly … I grow a leg! I wiggle my tail … (Spoken Solo) “Hey! What happened to my tail?” I guess I lost my tail. It happened somehow, And you can see … (a few voices) You can see … I’m a frog NOW! No tadpole! No tadpole! No young pollywog in an old foggy bog! Hip! Hip! Hooray! It’s my lucky day! I AM A FROG! (spoken) RIBBIT! 4 4. You Can Fly By John Jacobson and John Higgins You can fly! You can fly! You can spread your wings and soar. If you try, you’ll fly high. You’ll find so much more to explore. Everyone gets frightened when you start to change. “New” can be scary and strange. Growing up gets easier and I guarantee: You’ll never fly alone, ‘cause you have a friend in me. There’s no need to worry. On the wind, we go. Everyone needs help to grow. Open up your heart and you’ll find that if you try, You’ll do most anything by and by. You’ll even fly! You’ll find so much more. Open up that door, And with one more try, you can fly! A Frog in Your Throat By John Jacobson and John Higgins The birds go “cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep.” The bugs go “buzz, buzz, buzzzzz.” But we all love your brand new song, It’s the finest that ever was! The fish go “gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp.” The ducks go “quack, quack, quack.” And as long as you sing your very own song, There’ll be nothin’ holdin’ you back! Well, everybody gets a little frog in their throat. They baa like a sheep, or they bleat like a goat. It’s all about the special kind of song you sing, And it sounds about as good as anything! The crickets go “chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp.” The owls go “hoot, hoot, hoot.” The bullfrogs sing all through the night, But their song is still kind of cute! The crows go “caw, caw, caw, caw, caw.” The snakes go “hiss, hiss, hisssss.” There is just no way you can miss! Yes, it sounds about as good as anything! (Tommy) CRRROAK!!
