2 Without thinking too much about it, what score would you give yourself right now to indicate how happy you feel about your life? Write it on a post it note and write why you chose the number you did. 10. Extremely happy (feeling ecstatic, joyous, fantastic) 9. Very happy (feeling really good, elated) 8. Pretty happy (spirits high, feeling good) 7. Mildly happy (feeling fairly good and somewhat cheerful) 6. Slightly happy (just a bit above neutral) 5. Neutral (not particularly happy or unhappy) 4. Slightly unhappy (just a bit below neutral) 3. Mildly unhappy (just a bit low) 2. Pretty unhappy (somewhat ‘blue’, spirits down) 1. Very unhappy (depressed, spirits very low) 0. 4 What makes you happy? How would other people know you are happy?
How do you know you are happy? How would other people know you are happy?

5 What is happiness? Happiness is how we feel when many things in our lives are working well. These things include our: brains bodies feelings relationships sense of purpose How can we make each of these things work well for us? What do you do or what can you do to make these things work well for you?

6 So what is wellbeing? LONGER HAPPIER HEALTHIER LIFE
Wellbeing refers to a person’s state of happiness and health It includes all 5 things: brains, bodies, feelings, relationships, sense of purpose It is important to have good ‘wellbeing’ in order to live a LONGER HAPPIER HEALTHIER LIFE

7 There are five aspects of wellbeing………
On the next page, choose one image that you can relate to. Think about why you chose that image. What does it ‘say’ to you? In groups, discuss the image that you chose and why you chose that picture.

Wellbeing is looking after yourself and your feelings(emotional) Wellbeing is looking after your brain (cognitive) Wellbeing is looking after your relationships (social) Wellbeing is looking after your body (physical) Wellbeing is looking after your beliefs or having a purpose or goals (spiritual)

What makes Happiness? These five aspects (Cognitive (looking after your brain), Social (looking after your relationships), Emotional (looking after your feelings), Physical (looking after your body) and Spiritual (looking after your beliefs) ALL work well together to create POSITIVE WELLBEING This results in us FEELING HAPPY
