1 Apuntes el 4 de febrero Los adjetivos posesivos (Possessive Adjectives) To indicate that something belongs to someone or to show a relationship between people, we use de + noun. Remember, ’s doesn’t exist in Spanish. La casa de Juanita es muy grande. (Juanita’s house is very big.) El padre de Pedro es simpático. (Pedro’s father is nice.)

2 Another way to indicate possession is to use possessive
adjectives. The ones you need to know for now are the following: mi, mis = my tu, tus = your su, sus = his, her

3 The possessive adjective must be singular if the noun it describes
is singular and it must be plural if the noun it describes is plural. ¿Dónde están tus padres? (Where are your parents?) - Mi madre está en la casa y mi padre está en el garaje. (-My mother is in the house and my father is in the garage.)

4 Ana tiene un hermano y tres hermanas. Su hermano se llama
Paco y sus hermanas se llaman Margarita, Paula y Carla. (Ana has one brother and three sisters. Her brother’s name is Paco and her sisters’ names are Margarita, Paula and Carla.)
