2 COURSE SYLLABUS In addition to instruction in the constant evolution of photographic related advances, there will be lessons using digital and film technology (digital and film cameras, Adobe Photoshop computer software, digital printers, film, and darkroom enlarging and printing equipment)

Careers In Photography History of Photography Basic study of Digital vs. Film Photography Taking Photographs – Camera Holding and Aiming, Composition, Shooting Different Subject Matter, Downloading, Saving, Altering/ Manipulations & Printing Images (Also Film Development and Darkroom Enlarging) Using Computers & Various Storage Media, Digital Printers, and Darkroom Enlargers & Materials for Film Projects with Digital & Film Photography Exposure/Lighting, Film & Digital Manipulations & Alterations Portraiture & Artistic Still-Life

4 Project Titles: (First Semester)
“History of Photography Poster” “Me” “Opposites” “Pictures Don’t Lie, Pictures Do Lie” “Portraits” “Cityscape/Landscape” “Shadows/Reflections” “Photo Mosaic” (ala David Hockney) + Second Semester: Advanced Projects

5 Grading Points: 2000 total points each Semester for an “A” grade
200 points for each major and/or photo-taken project (approx. 8 Projects) 100 point extra projects (approx. 4) Extra Credit Activities: 25 – 50 points Class Participation - up to 600 points

6 Supply Fund $60. Year / ($30. each Semester)
Cash or Checks (checks to AUSD) Used for Film, Paper – Both Digital & Film, And All Related Equipment Ink, Ink Reservoir Systems, Digital-Printers, Darkroom Enlargers, Timers, Easels, Chemical Trays, Dryers, Related Equipment to both Digital and Film Projects (Including All Chemicals & Supplies, Any Other Digital & Printer, Film & Darkroom, and Classroom & Studio Equipment/Accessories to use) Cameras for Class-time Check-out, Storage Memory Cards, Film, Rechargeable Batteries, Chargers, Cables, Flash Drives, Strobe Flash and Lighting Equipment Waivers, for financial hardships with parent/ guardian consent & counselor approval

7 Classroom/Camera Rules:
Classroom Rules: 1. BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS AND YOURSELF. 2. ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE. 3. SAFETY FIRST, ALWAYS. 4. IMAGINATION HELPS. 5. NO UNCOVERED FOOD OR DRINKS IN CLASS. 6. ALWAYS ASK & RECEIVE PERMISSION AND/OR ASSISTANCE, FIRST. Camera Pass Rules: 1. PASS MUST BE VISIBLE. 2. CAMERA MUST BE VISIBLE. 3. YOU MUST BE ON YOUR FEET MOVING (NO SITTING/CHATTING). 4. YOU MUST BE ONLY WORKING ON YOUR OWN PHOTO PROJECT. 5. NO FOOD OR DRINK WHILE OUT WITH PASS. 6. YOU MUST STAY “ON CAMPUS” ONLY. 7. RETURN 10 MINS. BEFORE CLASS ENDS. 8.
