2. Solar Energy in Transportation – What is it?
We researched using solar energy to improve transportation methods
Solar energy is currently being developed to provide solar roadways, cars, buses, and even planes
Solar reduces waste and harmful gases into the environment
Helps make transportation more efficient

3. Relevance of Solar Energy in Transportation
Using solar energy pollutes the air much less than emissions from cars
Fossil fuels aren’t unlimited and the sun is never-ending energy source
Creating solar powered transportation will result in a major amount of jobs being created compared to other industries

5. Relevance of Solar Energy in Transportation
Would heavily impact everyone involved with the oil and gas companies as they would not be required to be open anymore
Many gas stations would need to be converted to charging stations which creates new jobs
The price of an average solar powered car is estimated to be about $200,000. While people would save on gas, it would be a large upfront investment

Research teams have been designing cars with built in solar panels to generate energy that powers the cars engine
A solar team, Solar Team Eindhoven, has designed a solar powered car that seats four people
The car is so energy efficient that it can generate more energy than it uses to drive, over the course of a year

7. Occurrences of Solar Powered Transportation
Solar car racing has been a large worldwide event, with solar energy teams and even automobile companies designing solar powered vehicles to race
Companies such as Ford, Honda, Toyota, and Nissan have been involved in solar racing as it is a way to test out their vehicles

8. Future Research of Solar Powered Transportation
- Future research needs to be done to reduce the costs of solar powered vehicles
- Explore ways to create a solar power grid in the infrastructure of the world, therefore providing power even on cloudy days

Research has been conducted and is still in the process of creating solar power roadways
The idea is for the roadways to collect energy from the sun and be used in everyday life
The hope is that they’ll be able to charge electric vehicles while driving

11. Solar Energy Transportation
Solar powered transportation is clean for the environment and will make transportation more efficient
With the availability of fossil fuels decreasing and their prices increasing, it is becoming more important to have an alternative energy source
A good amount of research has already been conducted on solar powered transportation
The trick now is trying to make the already solar powered vehicles more efficient and affordable for the average American
