11 Homework Students are held accountable for their homework through the work/study habits section of the report card. Missing 0-2 assignments = O (Outstanding) Missing 3-5 assignments = S (Satisfactory) Missing 6 or more assignments = N (Needs Improvement) Please be aware of the above grading scale. If your child receives an N on the report card in the Work/Study section, he/she will not be on the Honor Roll. (This applies to behavior as well). It does not apply to handwriting.

12 Math Curriculum Compacting
A flexible, research-supported instructional technique. Enables high-ability students to skip work they already know and substitute more challenging content. Specifically designed to make appropriate adjustments for students using the natural pattern teachers would follow if they were individualizing instruction for each student. Meets the student at his or her instructional readiness level for each unit of math.

13 Math Curriculum Compacting
How does it work? Accelerated math students were identified at the end of 3rd grade based on test scores and report card grades. These students will remain together for the rest of the school year. Remaining 4th grade students will take pretests for each math unit in order to create flexible learning groups based on readiness for the upcoming unit. Students will remain together throughout the unit being taught. All students will receive instruction that covers all 4th grade math standards. Planners will be used to communicate teacher assignments for each math unit. Overall grades will be found in ParentVue. Please check Friday folders for graded math papers showing specific grades on tests and assignments.
