1 Student Database Management Information System an initiative towards tracking every student… (In Sync with U-DISE)

2 Student Database Management Information System (SDMIS) (as an Integral component of U-DISE)
General information Disability info. Personal Information Achievement info. Academic (CCE) info. Examination info. Scholarship info. Family info. Attendance info. MDM info. Facilities info. Health info.

3 Indicators which can be generated from (SDMIS)
Enrolment and Repeaters related all indicators By Social Category, by Age grade By Medium of Instruction By Trade and Sector Enrolment Ratio (GER and NER) Flow Rates (Dropout, Repetition, Promotion, Retention, Transition, Survival rates etc.) All present publications based on U-DISE data can be generated from the SDMIS integrated with U-DISE Cross-sectional Indicators based on student data Indicators Can be generated at all levels like National, State, District, Block, Cluster, School etc. SDMIS (U-DISE) Real Time Updated Data

4 (needs dedicated internet connectivity)
Modes of data collection and data management Online (needs dedicated internet connectivity) Offline (does not require internet but will need an utility to be installed in the local machine) SDMIS (U-DISE) Hybrid Data entry can be done offline and can be synchronized whenever internet is available Bulk upload Data can be collected in Excel sheets and can be uploaded onto the database using the Online option Mobile app will be available for Data Validation and Data updation only. (Not yet ready)

5 Strength of SDMIS and U-DISE
In-house software development No dependency on third party Ability to expand/enhance the modules Reduces maintenance cost Instant implementation of suggestions and modifications Customization is possible as per states specific requirements Knowledgeable support to stake holders (MHRD, states etc.) In-time problem solution by in-house technical experts Full ownership of the final product Meet exactly to the requirements

6 Outcomes and benefits of SDMIS with U-DISE – (a)
Generate cross-sectional enrolment tables In future, tracking of students using AADHAAR will be made possible Gradually, SDMIS will help to create Student-Teacher relationship which will lead to Teacher Performance and Teacher monitoring Gradually SDMIS and will also create a platform for Parent-Teacher interaction SDMIS will be useful for states to monitor and assess the needs of uniform distribution, textbook distribution (by language), Transport facility, Residential facility and any other state specific facility provided to students, Monitoring of National level schemes like Mid Day Meal, Scholarship schemes etc. will be possible through SDMIS

7 Outcomes and benefits of SDMIS with U-DISE – (b)
Monitoring of National level schemes like Mid Day Meal, Scholarship schemes etc. will be possible through SDMIS SDMIS will create a platform for Vocational Education system by monitoring the students option for Vocational courses at Secondary level of education SDMIS will build a database of students aspiring for science, commerce, humanities streams at Higher Education level SDMIS will help to monitor RTE parameters SDMIS will provided Centralized Common Minimum Framework to the states to build and expand their existing systems (if available) SDMIS (data entry) can be made available to states in their local regional language (Not yet ready)

8 Outcomes and benefits of SDMIS with U-DISE – (c)
SDMIS will provide dynamic and flexible facility to states to add n number of additional supplementary variables which can be maintained in the same database along with the National level variables. Data entry and Cross-sectional Reports on these additional Supplementary variables will also be available in the same module.

9 Implementation Methodology SDMIS (in Sync with U-DISE)
Data collection Date of reference Finalization of School directory Printing of Student Data Capture Format (SDMIS DCF) Management of Resources (Manpower) Distribution and collection of SDMIS DCF Training of HMs/Respondents (for filling Student DCF)

10 Implementation Methodology SDMIS (in Sync with U-DISE)
Data Management Level and mode of data entry Management of Resources (Manpower, Hardware, Internet) Training of Respondents (for SDMIS Module - Online) Timeline for SDMIS Data Entry Approval Mechanism Integration of Existing State SDMIS into National

11 Implementation Methodology SDMIS (in Sync with U-DISE)
Printing of U-DISE DCF (Enrolment tables generated from SDMIS) Timeline for U-DISE Data Entry and Data Management Approval Mechanism
