7 Renewable resource A renewable resource is a resource which can be used repeatedly because it is replaced naturally. Examples are: oxygen, fresh water, solar energy, timber, and biomass. Renewable resources may include goods or commodities such as wood, paper and leather, because their sources are renewable. Gasoline, coal, natural gas, diesel, plastics and other things that come from fossil fuels are not renewable. They take millions of years to be made, and cannot be renewed in our lifetime or even a nation's lifetime (they are called fossil fuels because they are as old as fossils). .

12 “Way’s to save environment”
We should save drinking water. Water is a precious component of our environment. It should never be wasted. We should never pollute water. Efforts should be made in making significant reduction in both domestic and industrial disposal in water bodies. There should be a zero tolerance policy towards deforestation. Each one of us can contribute towards saving the environment by planting just one tree every-month. We can make donations to NGOs that are engaged in planting trees, or in any-way working towards saving the environment. Safer environmental friendly car and vehicles should be used. For short distances, people should be encouraged to use bicycle in place of motor based vehicles. The use of environment unfriendly materials such as plastic should be discouraged. Instead of dumping domestic garbage in the pond, lake or river, these should

Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981[2] Biological Diversity Act, 2002 Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 Forest Conservation Act, 1980 Hazardous Waste Handling and Management Act, 1989 Indian Forest Act, 1927 National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 Noise Pollution rule

15 Recycling of waste products

16 What is waste recycling
Recycling is processing used materials (waste) into new, useful products. This is done to reduce the use of raw materials that would have been used. Recycling also uses less energy and and great way of controlling air, water and land pollution. Effective recycling starts with household (or the place where the waste was created). In many serious countries, the authorities help households with bin bags with labels on them. Households then sort out the waste themselves and place them in the right bags for collection. This makes the work less difficult.

18 Ways of recycling Buy recycled paper and print on both sides. When using paper in the office, print on both sides of the sheet and recycle the paper when you are finished. By recycling one ton of paper, you can save 17 trees, almost 7,000 gallons of water and more than three cubic yards of landfill space. 2.Recycle your empty ink and toner cartridges. Almost eight cartridges are thrown out in the United States every second of every day. That's almost 700,000 cartridges per day 3 .Recycle old newspapers laying around the office. When finished reading the newspaper, either leave it for someone else to read or recycle it
