1 DMC Installation Works
A guide to less headaches for you and the T.O.

2 Tools The DMC has some tools that students may use.
We are not the Sculpture department though! Tools should be looked after, used correctly, and returned in good condition. If in doubt about usage ask the T.O. Don’t waste materials. Put tops on glue bottles and paint tins. Wash brushes and spatulas. Clean up any mess you make. As quickly as reasonably possible. General consumables are your responsibility. Unless you want additional course fees applied!

3 Safety Liquids Mechanicals Electrics Protective Clothing
Protect floors/walls and audience from liquids Mechanicals Structures must be stable and well-made Electrics External mains-voltage equipment MUST be tagged: arrange with the T.O. well in advance Protective Clothing Properly covered footwear during installation/takedown Safety glasses and ear-plugs can be supplied as needed Cotton gloves for handling lighting are available Safety Assessments are required for all exhibition pieces. Producing these is part of your work assessment.

4 Works should be generally-ready one week before exhibition.
Preparedness Works should be generally-ready one week before exhibition. Fine-tuning and minor repairs can occur after this time. The T.O. will happily assist with resolving unforseen last-minute glitches. Problems related to poor preparedness/last-minute-ism will be given lowest priority.

5 After the show/event/assessment
You are responsible for the timely removal of your artwork. This is part of your assessment. The iC Cleaning Staff are NOT responsible for picking up after students! Artworks left past pick-up time may be destroyed and/or absorbed into DMC stock. Time the T.O. spends dismantling/removing abandoned works may be billed to the artist.
