1 Our MISSION: MPSA is committed to the advancement of our
profession and the development of student pharmacists by providing extracurricular opportunities that foster professional engagement. Our VISION: Every member utilizes MPSA as a way to find their place in pharmacy through personal experiences serving patients and engaging in professional associations. Through these opportunities, members will advance the profession of pharmacy by showcasing our unique skills and abilities to the community and to other healthcare professionals.

3 Pre-pharmacy student membership: $20
Attend meetings (Thursdays 12:15-1:15pm in Moos 1-450) Hear from a variety of speakers in different pharmacy practice settings (Ambulatory Care, Clinical, Industry, Managed Care, etc) Meet current pharmacy students at the University of Minnesota Lunch is provided from some meetings (sign-up in weekly ) Volunteer at health fairs (patient intake and guide)

Representing pharmacists in hospitals, ambulatory clinics, long-term care facilities, home care, health maintenance organizations, and other components in health systems (Informatics) Accrediting body for residencies—are you thinking of a residency? More ASHP is a constantly growing organization that currently has over 40,000 members including health-system pharmacists, pharmacy students and technicians. ASHP was founded in 1942 and the original “H” in the acronym stood for “Hospital”. In 1995, ASHP changed the “H” to “Health-System” to reflect the changes in the profession that extended beyond inpatient care into ambulatory care and home care. The headquarters is located in Bethesda, MD- just outside of Washington, D.C. ASHP believes the mission of pharmacists is to help people achieve optimal health outcomes. ASHP helps its members achieve this mission by advocating and supporting the professional practice of pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics, and other settings spanning the full spectrum of medication use. ASHP serves its members as their collective voice on issues related to medication use and public health. So, what exactly is a health-system pharmacist?...

State affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Mission The mission of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists is to help people achieve optimal health outcomes through support and advancement of the professional practice of pharmacy.
