Academic Eligibility Wabasha-Kellogg High School Activity rules apply to all students participating in activities sponsored by Wabasha-Kellogg Junior-Senior High School. These activities include: All MSHSL sponsored activities, Fall Play, Spring Musical, Trap Shooting League, Bowling League and other school sponsored activities. Eligibility exceptions occur when performances are included as part of the class grading expectation (Ex. Choir and Band concerts). To be scholastically eligible, students in grades 7-12 must be making satisfactory progress during each grade reporting period. These reporting periods include mid-quarter and quarter grades. Satisfactory progress is defined as having no failing grade(s) (F) at a mid-quarter or quarter grading period. The consequence for failing to demonstrate satisfactory progress at each grading period is as follows: 1. A Student failing 1 or more classes at a mid-quarter grading period shall lose eligibility for the next scheduled interscholastic contest and will remain ineligible until passing all classes. Students are given an Academic Eligibility sheet to have the teacher sign when they are passing. Once signed, they are cleared and eligible to participate. Academic Eligibility sheets need to be submitted to the high school office no later than noon to be considered for eligibility that day. 2. A Student failing 1 or more classes at the end of a quarter grading period shall lose eligibility for the next two consecutive interscholastic contests and will remain ineligible until passing all classes, unless the class concludes at the end of the semester. Students are given an Academic Eligibility sheet to have the teacher sign when they are passing. Once signed, they are cleared and eligible to participate. Academic Eligibility sheets need to be submitted to the high school office no later than noon to be considered for eligibility that day. Special Provision: Quarter 4 grading period will carry over to the start of the following fall season. In other words, if a student is failing 1 or more classes at the end of quarter 4, and is unable to serve the above penalty under provision 2, he or she will have to miss the first two consecutive interscholastic contests of the following fall season.
