5 Entry Rules cont’d: Format
Each entry may be a MAXIMUM of 10 slides. Submit before and after images. A client name cannot be used in your Project Title. A descriptive and appropriate title must be used, e.g.: “Lakeside Retreat,” “French Classic Kitchen,” Keep in mind any media coverage would include the Project Title. Choose your images based on relevance: for example, images of concept or sample boards, images of plans, etc. Upload the images in a logical sequence starting from introduction and graduating to details. (High Quality images will ensure winning videos are as nice as possible.) All Kitchen and Bath entries must include a dimensioned floor plan. The first slide is for your headshot and a brief bio. Each entry should be accompanied by a project description that tells the project story and describes the objectives, design challenges, and solutions. The project description takes the form of ten brief narratives; one narrative accompanies each slide. The introductory narrative (Max. 100 words) should accompany the first slide. We recommend the first slide be your feature shot of the decorated space. The narratives for the other nine slides may not exceed 50 words. You must also provide high level budget information in your final slide. An input screen will guide you through this requirement. If the homeowner has provided some of the products or labour separately it should be stated on the budget form. STUDENT ENTRIES: For Student Projects, the introductory narrative (max.100 words) should provide a client profile. The budget information slide is optional for the Student Project. Students should upload images of a sample/presentation board, a floor plan, an elevation and a perspective drawing and may include additional photos, up to ten images in total. Please ensure that your images and titles are legible as they cannot be expanded or zoomed during the judging process. DISQUALIFICATION:  Competition entries must not contain anything that would identify the Entrant or the Client. The narratives and budget screens must not include any references to location or suppliers. The use of Company names or logos on boards, etc. or a reference to location or suppliers, etc. will result in automatic disqualification of the entry. *** All images submitted to the competition may be selected by CDECA at its complete discretion for the purposes of operating and promoting the current and future competitions.
