1 These are some really early concept drawings from Ralf Groene, Creative Director for Surface.
People are often challenged to pick 'a tablet' or a 'laptop', wanting both - but either sacrificing features or spending more on multiple devices to solve their needs. Several years ago, when Microsoft set out to solve this problem, it started with a vision of a device that could do these 3 core things. Allow people to get work done, to draw and write, and to read. You can see that in the way Surface was designed with an integrated kickstand, a keyboard that is so well designed, it clicks perfectly into place, and a pen that was custom designed to feel like a fountain pen on paper.

2 What’s in your bag? How is it managed? How is your data protected?

You can choose Core M/i5/i7. The new chips create less heat for our fan, which results in an cooler and thinner device. It’s 30% faster than Surface Pro 3 and 60 faster than MacBook!! You can choose up to 16GB of RAM. Larger, better screen Surface Pro 4 is the same width and height as Surface Pro 3, but since the bezel has been reduced, the usable screen size is even larger – now 12.3” of usable screen space as opposed to 12”. The screen gets even brighter with 267dpi – it CRUSHES retina! Generally a high resolution screen is taxing on the battery. However, due to the new SkyLake processor, we’ve been able to actually increase the battery life. Runs Windows 10 Pro and the software you rely on It runs Windows 10 and you can load desktop software or universal apps you rely on. And advanced technology from Microsoft, such as Cortana, Windows Hello, and improved Surface Pen, puts you in control of your technology – not the other way around. 11 Transform the workplace.
Secure and manage workforce. Attract the next generation of talent. Next generation identity protection. Increased mobility. Information security. I’m sure we’ve all worked in places where we’ve had the ‘bums on seats’ memo. You may work somewhere like that today. Needing people to be in the office every day shows a lack of trust. If work is a destination, if you’re staring at a screen day in, day out when do you stop and think? You can’t be creative, you can’t innovate if you’re in the same environment every day where your focus is on clearing out your inbox. Forgot about worklife balance. It’s work/life merge. This is also essential in attracting talent from the next generation. Traditionally the power users have left out of this. They’ve had to have huge workstations or be static as the technology they need to do their job restricts them to a desk or a lab. Book can give them the freedom the others are starting to enjoy. However, this needs to be secure. Combing solutions such as EMS, ECS and Windows Hello gives you next generation security. By giving them truly mobile devices you allow them to choose the very best place to work. Strategize vs execution could mean different environments. One device for work and personal….. Work life merge…. Home device is normally better than the work device.

12 Move to a paperless world.
Replace printed instructions and manuals with portable interactive instructions. Compress the time to sale with digital signatures. Enhance staff communication and collaboration.

13 Improve efficiency of people in the field.
Real-time inventory data in the field. Mobile workforce management. Single device to remove the need for multiple devices and workstations. Real-time collaboration for trouble shooting. Multiple users, single sign on. Field crew could be on a production line, a construction site, or a retail merchanidser or even an area manager. Bae…. Real time collaboration Real time inventory checking Tablet to check, dock to work.
