It had one chamber accessed through 2 smaller antechambers

4 The Great Sphinx

5 Its location is on the Giza plateau close to modern day Cairo.
The body of the Sphinx is a lion and it has the head of a woman.

6 There are three types of Egyptian sphinx
There are three types of Egyptian sphinx. The first type is an androsphinx which is the head of a man and the body of a lion. The next one is a criosphinx which is the head of a ram and the body of a lion. The last one is a hieracosphinx which is the head of a hawk and the body of a lion. The great sphinx is built closest to pharaoh khafre’s pyramid.

7 The Great Sphinx is carved out of rock.
The Great Pyramid is relatively close to the size of a 6 story building. The Great Sphinx is carved out of rock.

8 The Great Sphinx faces east towards the sunrise.
For centuries the sphinx was buried up to the chin and was finally dug in 1925.

9 There are four reasons why there is so much mystery surrounding the Great Sphinx. The first is that there is no indication to whom built it. There is no true origin. There was also no purpose. The last reason why is there is water damage on it.

10 Two things are missing on the Sphinx: the beard and the nose.
The Great Sphinx cannot be dated because there is no text on it, and it was made of stone.
