1 Dying to Raise CHAMPIONS

2 What Happened? NEW DEAL vs. OLD DEAL

3 Heb 8:6-7 6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. The first deal had issues and there was need for a better deal; better promises.

4 Heb 8:8-12 8 Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — 9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt;

5 because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

6 11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." In the New Deal, God does not focus on our sins and that’s how we’re be able to know Him – Eternal Life (John 17:3)

7 Heb 8:13 13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. You cannot be a New Creation in Christ and continue operating on the bad deal. The bad deal (Old Testament), which emphasizes deeds instead of relationship must be done away with.

8 Heb 9:16-17 16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. There was no way God was just going to wipe off the first deal and bring in the New One without the conditions for both deals being met – Death!

9 Heb 9:18-22 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you

10 21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Remission means erasing the record of wrong. This is only possible by the shedding of blood and was necessary even for the bad deal!

11 Imagine promising God that… How sad!
Ex 24:7-8 7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient." 8 And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, "This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord has made with you according to all these words." Imagine promising God that… How sad!

12 Matt 26:26-29 26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

13 His body = Tabernacle + Blood = blood
29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom." The New Deal is not between us and God like the old one; it’s between Christ and His Father and we are beneficiaries. It’s dependant on His obedience not ours; and it will be in force until that Day. His body = Tabernacle + Blood = blood

14 He bought us back PERMANENTLY!
11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. He bought us back PERMANENTLY!

15 Heb 9:25-26 25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another — 26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. This is a DONE DEAL that requires no maintenance on our part. Just believe it!

16 Heb 10:11-14 11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified!

17 Why Did It Happen? BRINGING MANY SONS TO GLORY

18 John 12:24 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. Christ was sown as a Seed so that He may reproduce Himself several billion times over! The idea is that every born again believer has the same potential Christ had, the same abilities!

19 John 15:16-17 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. As we sow our lives in Him, we too are able to bear fruit the way He did, to help others find this New Deal in Him!

20 Whoa! He even expects us to do BETTER!
John 14:12-14 12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. Whoa! He even expects us to do BETTER!

21 John 17:20&22 20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; … 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: Can you imagine that? His own glory! This is not about sin; sin was just a hindrance to the REAL DEAL!

22 1 Peter 1:10-12 10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. His suffering was to be followed by glory and we are the expression of that glory!

23 Heb 2:10-11 10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren NKJV He suffered so that we are brought to glory. No one should try suffer for Him!

24 ABOLISHED DEATH… and all its effects!
2 Tim 1:8-10 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, ABOLISHED DEATH… and all its effects!

25 Rom 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Col 2:12 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

26 Eph 1:7-10 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

27 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth — in Him. The mystery of God’s will is to bring back everything both in heaven and on earth under Christ; and He left us to deal with earth as He deals with heaven! ALL THINGS – CNN, BA, Everest, Roads, Governments, Stock Exchanges, $, €, £, ¥!

28 Col 1:19-20 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. The only way Christ will reconcile earthly things to Himself is through us, knowing that the blood has dealt with what hinders us from accessing power – sin.

29 Rom 8:16-17 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. God won’t be dying again so stop waiting to step into your inheritance – Everything HE IS, everything HE HAS!

30 Rom 5:17 17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Over-receiving unmerited favor and righteousness as a gift as opposed to working for it will lead to REIGNING IN LIFE. That’s the New Deal!

31 Royal priesthood means we are kings and priests. Normal is overrated!
1 Peter 2:9 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; Chosen generation means we have new genes; we are genetically modified! Royal priesthood means we are kings and priests. Normal is overrated!

32 And to open its seals; For You were slain,
Rev 5:9-10 9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth."
