1 Texture Still Life

2 watercolor Paint –Pigment that is dispersed into a liquid (vehicle) that includes a binder to make it adhere both to itself and to the surface. A paint that uses water as a solvent (to dissolve or thin) Traits – applied thin and often transparent (can see through it)

Wet on wet – wet medium on a wet surface Pre-wet the surface before painting Less control, but very fluid Good for 1st layer and to cover large areas

Suran wrap – an experimental watercolor technique Paint surface with a color using wet on wet or wet on dry, then lay a piece of suran wrap on top of the paper. Leave it alone for about 30 minutes to dry Creates a beautiful texture

6 texture An element of art, texture is the surface quality or "feel" of an object, its smoothness, roughness, softness, etc. may be actual or simulated. Actual textures can be felt with the fingers, while simulated textures are suggested by an artist in the painting of different areas of a picture — often in representing drapery, metals, rocks, hair, etc.

7 India Ink a simple black or colored ink once widely used for writing and printing and now more commonly used for drawing and outlining, specially when inking comic books and comic strips. May also be use for ink washes, as watercolors Basic India ink is composed of a variety of fine soot, known as lampblack, combined with water to form a liquid.

8 Line Quality  influences the overall emotional impact of the art work - they can be thick, thin, straight, curved or angular - these are the emotional qualities of the line itself.
