International Rankings… In a recent (2006e SSRN research carried out by the Social Sciences Research Network (SSRN) among all non-US Universities, AUEB ranks among the top 15 Universities internationally in terms of total research output, among the top 11 Universities internationally in terms of total new papers in the last 12 months, and among the top 11 Universities internationally in terms of total authors. According to Microsoft Academic Search AUEB was ranked at the top 10% internationally (taking into account research publications and citations over time), and at the top 2% in Europe (taking into account research publications and citations over the last five years), in the scientific field of Financial Economics.

The MSc in Accounting and Finance
Established in October 2004 Starting from 2010, the program also offers English speaking groups of studies The program’s curriculum is reformed in 2014 and now offers eight (8) distinct specializations The program’s mission is the advancement of knowledge and scientific research in the fields of Accounting and Finance. Especially when considering the unstable national and international economic conditions, as well as the high complexity of financial markets, specified knowledge in those fields is now more than ever essential for climbing the executive ladder in any given industry. This mission is accomplished through a contemporary and well designed curriculum that utilizes a variety of teaching methods apart from the study of international scientific literature, such as laboratory classes, case studies, and individual or team assignments.

Admission Criteria Admission Criteria
The Program is designed for highly intelligent applicants with good undergraduate studies, talent, and good prospects, who are ready to work hard and have the ambition to reach top positions on the executive ladder Admission Criteria Bachelor Degree from a recognized university (non Greek degrees must be recognized by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre ). Grade point average of the Bachelor degree. Two reference letters. Very good command of the English language, as indicated by a TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS score or CAE/CPE. GMAT/GRE score (optionally). Grades received in postgraduate courses in accounting and/or finance Evaluation of the undergraduate thesis if there is one Work experience obtained following completion of the undergraduate studies (only for part-time applicants). Personal interview by the Admissions Committee

Full time group: 3 courses per teaching period for the first four periods 1 course (fast track) during the 5th period Researching and writing the Masters thesis takes place during the fifth period Part time group: 2 courses per teaching period for the first five periods 1 course per teaching period during the 6th, 7th and 8th period Researching and writing the Masters thesis takes place during the 7th and 8th period Students may choose to attend two additional elective courses instead of researching and writing the Masters thesis.

Facilities and Infrastructure Teaching classrooms
All AUEB’s postgraduate lectures take place in Postgraduate Studies Building, which is located at the corner of Evelpidon 47 and Lefkados 33 Streets. Lectures also take place in other nearby buildings at 29 Evelpidon St and 28 Ydras St.

The program’s postgraduate students may lend books from: The MSc Program’s lending library which is situated in the Secretariat’s Office and includes several copies of every textbook used in the program’s compulsory and elective courses. The University’s Library which is situated on the 1st floor of the university’s main building (76 Patission St.) and operates daily from 9.00 till All graduate students can also track and download books and scientific journals online through the VPN service.

Students services AUEB’s Career Office
The program’s students and graduates are assisted and guided by AUEB’s Career Office ( in decisions related to their future employment and career path. Within the framework of services provided, the Career Office has developed and is constantly expanding a broad network of dynamic partnerships with large organizations and corporation in Greece and abroad, is posting job announcements, organizes events and workshops, and offers consultancy in career related areas. The Office has been hosting, ever since 1993, the “Career Days” event, during which all AUEB’s undergraduate and postgraduate students and alumni have the chance to meet in person and interact with potential employers from a variety of different business sectors. Students services Sports and cultural activities
Sports: AUEB’s Physical Education Center provides postgraduate students the opportunity to become acquainted with different sports and participate in various athletic activities such as: • Basketball • Volleyball • Swimming • Athletics (Track & Field) • Tennis • Table Tennis • Water Polo • Shooting • Chess Practice sessions are held every day in the facilities of “Panellinios” Sports Club that include various indoor gyms as well as an indoor/ outdoor swimming pool. Students services Restaurant Facilities: Meals are available to all postgraduate students at the University restaurant. Some students, depending on their financial situation, are entitled to eat at the University restaurant free of charge. Enquiries can be made at the “Office of Student Affairs,” located in the basement of the main building at 76 Patission St. Students should bring a copy of their most recent tax statement. Health care: Free medical and hospital care is available to all AUEB postgraduate students from Greece and non EU countries, who first sign a form stating that they are not insured by any other health care institution. Students can apply for health coverage at the Program Secretariat when they register. Students from European Union countries must obtain a European Health Insurance Card before leaving their home country. In addition, the University has an infirmary with a medical doctor, located in the main building at 76 Patission St. Accommodation: With regard to student accommodation, the Program provides assistance to students looking for a furnished apartment near the University. The rent ranges between 350 to 500 euros, depending on the size and number of students sharing the apartment. Students should keep in mind that landlords in Greece usually request two months of rent as a refundable deposit/ guarantee.

Educational trips - Social events
As part of their study program our graduate students have visited London several times. While in London students visit major financial institutions in the British capital such as the Bank of England, the Intercontinental Exchange, the London Metal Exchange, the Baltic Exchange, Jefferies International Limited, Societe Generale, Winton Capital Management, Cheyne Capital Management etc. In addition our graduate students attending the courses “Portfolio Analysis and Management” and “Shipping Finance” pay visits to the Hellenic Exchanges as well as to major shipping companies such as Cosco, Marmaras Navigation, Delta Tankers and the Propontis Foundation,. Social events take place every year for program’s students and graduates, as well as faculty members and partners of the program.

International Accreditations of the Program
Graduates of the Masters program are exempt from several units of the examinations for the professional qualification of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). More specifically, all MSc graduates are exempt from the following units: F1 “Accountant in Business” (AB), F2 “Management Accounting” (MA), F3 “Financial Accounting” (FA), F4 “Corporate and Business Law” (CL). In addition graduates may also get exemption from the units F5 “Performance Man-agement (PM) and F8 “Audit and Assurance” (AA) on the basis that they have attended certain modules of the masters program’s curriculum. The MSc also participates in the ACCA Accelerate program, thus granting multiple discounts for the ACCA qualification acquisition. Moreover, the program has been accepted in the CFA’s University Recognition program, and is officially listed among top business schools and educational institutions that enjoy the support of CFA (Chartered Financial Analysts). This recognition entitles the program to award up to three (3) CFA Program Awareness Scholarships to students each fiscal year.

International Accreditations of the Program
The Masters program has been recognized by the Institute of Internal Αuditors (The IIA) as one of the IIA Internal Audit Awareness Program Schools, thus recognizing its commitment and effort to provide its students with the information and skill sets necessary to choose an internal auditing career path. The MSc was recently assessed by the ICAEW - Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and was granted the following exemptions of the ACA qualification (upon passing grades in certain course modules): Accounting, Assurance, Business and Finance, Financial Management and Management Information. The MSc also participates in the ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) Anti-Fraud Education Partnership Program. The Anti-Fraud Education Partnership Program makes it easy for participating universities to offer expert anti-fraud training to their students and provides universities with high quality educational material, such as workbooks, case studies, videos, and additional resources to further assist instructors with their “Fraud Examination” course.

Bilateral Agreements with non Greek Universities
The MSc program in Accounting and Finance has currently a bilateral agreement with the Masters program in Advanced Financial Studies offered by the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Rennes 1-France, regarding the mutual exchange of two students each year who will be able to take a second Masters degree in the partner institution for free. The Masters program in Accounting and Finance has signed a memorandum of scientific cooperation Kiev National University of Trade and Economics of Ukraine

Εxcellence awards & Best teaching prizes
Starting from the academic year , the program awards the best teaching prize, which is given out each year during the graduation ceremony to the faculty member that ranks first based on the students’ teaching evaluations. . The MSc program grants monetary awards to the top students of each group of studies, based on grades achieved throughout the program, for both the full time and the part time courses. The awards are given out each year during the graduation ceremony.

Tuition fees – Scholarship Opportunities
The program’s tuition fees for the academic year come up to 6.900€ for the full time group 9.500€ for the part time group for all international students coming from EU or non EU member countries. Greek State Scholarships The State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) grants scholarships for postgraduate or postdoctoral studies in Greece to all foreigners as well as scholarships for the attendance of the Modern Greek Language and Culture. The programmes for postgraduate/postdoctoral studies are announced around January / February of each year and the scholarships are offered to nationals (foreigners or of Greek origin) from: a) THE EUROPEAN UNION MEMBER STATES, ICELAND, NORWAY, SWITZERLAND, U.S.A., CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND and JAPAN, b) BALKANS, CENTRAL or EASTERN EUROPE (NON MEMBERS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION), ASIA, AFRICA and LATIN AMERICA.
