Easter Dinner in Poland The main characters ‘ images come from  

2 It’s spring. Time for cleaning and celebrating Easter.

3 The boys get to work right away!;-)

4 Satisfied with the result, they are ready for Easter

5 On Palm Sunday we prepare special palms and take them to church for a blessing. Palms are usually made of willow or buxus branches and dried flowers.

6 Sometimes there are competitions for the tallest or the most beautiful palm. The highest palm can reach even 30 meters.

7 On Holy Saturday we prepare an Easter Basket. In the basket we put food. Later we eat this food for Easter breakfast. In the basket there is some bread, eggs, ham, lamb-shaped cake, sausages, salt, horseradish, and also chocolate eggs or bunnies. We decorate the baskets with white serviettes , flowers , and buxus branches . We take baskets to church.

9 Easter Eggs. There are many ways to decorate them.

11 On Easter Sunday.

12 For Easter breakfast we have Easter eggs, bread, ham, sausages, ćwikła (horseradish mixed with beetroot) and żurek (sour rye soup). All the food blessed on Easter Saturday.

13 Before Easter breakfast Polish families share Easter eggs with each other. First you crack the egg against your relative’s egg. We wish each other all the best.

15 As a dessert Polish people eat mazurek (flat square cake), baranek (lamb-shaped cake), babka (pound cake with a hole in the middle), cheesecake and chocolate eggs or bunnnies.
